So on Girgensons, there seems to be a divergence of opinion on what his NHL ceiling is. Some think he can score 15 goals a year in the right situation. My problem with him is that he doesn't seem to be able to lock down a line and give it an identity. To me, he's an AHL tweener who can't master faceoffs and D play enough to lock down a 3rd line while giving a scoring edge, he's not fast enough or tough enough to be a fourth line grinder, and he doesn't have the finishing ability to be top 6.
I would be fine with him if he were a Gaustad type to put out for a big faceoff and shut people down, but I don't think he's that guy. I really don't see his place on this team, or really in the league - jcragcrumple

Grier had a knack for rising to the occasion in playoffs. Girgs hasn't been given that opportunity, but I don't see it. Kane and Okposo give me that playoff performer vibe |

you want the higher floor in the playoffs
keenam offers the highest floor and IMO the highest ceiling of his options - homiedclown
Idk, Savage and the Nuk are coming in hot vs. one of the league’s worst pass D’s. Ramblin gamblin man. |

I think he wants to be a top6 guy
When he admits to himself that his best role will be as a bottom6 defensive forward, then he will have a chance to do well
That said,
we should be playing him in the top6 to showcase him for a trade
I think he can be a really good bottom6 guy for us, but that’s replaceable
So if he can be a part of a trade to bring us in a “core” guy, then that should be our focus
Same with Fasching
Play those 2 with Eichel & see what happens
And in that regard,
play Sam at Center w/ Kane & Okposo
Maybe that makes Reinhart movable for a type of return that could really benefit us going forward,
And Okposo just plain movable

I would take Taylor before that bum |

Some weeks you’d be right,
others you’d be wrong
Bree’s had less than 200yds & 0td against us... how many supstandard QBs outscored him that week
It happens every week |

I take the safe play in the playoffs
no chance I roll the dice with those other 2 bums when they are probably going to lean on their rb's

make them an expansion team and then stop expanding

Especially because the Browns are better on defense than people think. 10th overall and 16th against the pass. |

Move Toronto back to the West and just move the Coyotes to Seattle and give the East teams a better chance of making the playoffs for a few years. |

I don't think anyone posted this:
On Tyson Barrie...
The Sabres are desperate for scoring from the blue line, and all indications are their first choice is Colorado's Tyson Barrie. The Sabres had been talking to the Avs regarding a Duchene/Barrie combo trade about two months ago...
If it is a possibility, although highly unlikely, what would it take?
McCabe, Reinhart, +? |
