The production that has him top 5 in primary points in the entire league? He's short a few secondary assists so he's not worth his deal? that's what this is? Top 3 in primary points on the worst team in the league while being the only one creating offence and we're talking about Eichel not playing up to value.
- Sabresfan-365

he is on pace for 65 points

it's not like he is benched for the pp's, he is a leader on the first unit

you can stat me this and that all you want, reality is

10 million a year for a 65 point player is not value, and not a hometown discount

everyone said oh myers took a discount, great contract

then later

oh we got okposo for 6 instead of 7 per, great deal

for 10 million a year, he better be a top 12 player in the game to be on par with what he is making

and to be a value contract, a top 4 player in the game

stamkos leading the nhl in scoring with 41 points at 8.5 per is a value contract

eichel at 10 mil per who is 51st in scoring on pace for 65 points this year is not value

not a slam on him, he will need to take many steps forward in the next few years

and with buffalo, I assume nothing

Stamkos argument doesnt work here because thats a 10 mil deal if he signs in new york or something

You do realize in most cases secondary assists are the result of inconsequential plays, stat padding from the stats trackers who often hand that poop out like candy and more importantly mostly a result of playing for a team with significantly more talent.

Briere and Drury for sure, but they were way above average while in buffalo? who else left and became elite? Especially guys that were average here?

Barasso? He was pretty good here too?

- Boss34

I don't know if you're saying Briere and Drury were better here than anywhere else or not. Because they absolutely were better here than they were when the left. They both had career years here.

Barrasso won a Vezina here and nowhere else, his shutout average was very slightly better here than in Pittsburgh. He also won the Jennings here, but that's mostly a team award.

So if you were saying that, I apologize.

the debate for the rest of the season amongst Sabres fans will be, which one?

I hope we can keep this to a minimum and just watch the games.

- Der Kaiser

Good luck with that...

Jeter bought the Marlins using mostly other people’s money, completely gutted them, pushed out a bunch of longtime employees, and traded their once-in-a-Generation player to the Yankees.
- 22sabresQ

And yet, that's still more than the previous owners did for the team.

Edit: Hatty.

I read the same exact thing on Twitter!!

A quick recap: Jeter bought the Marlins using mostly other people’s money, completely gutted them, pushed out a bunch of longtime employees, and traded their once-in-a-Generation player to the Yankees. @BillSimmons

Just don't bother. He's a loafer and whiner and that's all people see.

I gotta hand it to PHam last night. He needled Jack just enough to get a useful quote out of him instead of standard boilerplate bullpoop.

Throwing out ROR, and even Pommer to an extent with Larsson and Moulson. ROR is the baby, or the good player, and Larsson and Moulson are the bathwater, or the bad players.

One of the best at faceoffs in the league and a member of many Team Canada teams plus a reliable 55- 65 point player, I think his trade value is significantly more than Okposo's. Can you imagine how much better ROR would make a legitimate contender as their #2 C? Nashville, Columbus and Tampa come to mind.

Somebody posted about how:

Players leave Buffalo that were average and then become stars else where. I completely disagree. I was hoping the poster would follow up.

Where is any talk of moving RoR coming from? Didn't gMJB says this past summer that Eichel, ROR is a 1-2 center combo most teams dream about? Things need to change, but is moving RoR really it? I don't consider him deadweight on this team like I do so many others. As of right now, until Mittlestadt gets his feet wet in the NHL, I think can only see ROR being moving in a package for someone like JT.

Ok, gotcha. I wasn't sure that's what you were saying. It seemed like you were agreeing with him.
