It's definitely hard to find someone who was average here and now a star.

Here's a few that were average and became better than average after they left:

Clark Mccarther
Byron
Ray Shepard
Prysk
Derek grant

Pretty weak list.

We pretty much use them up here in Buffalo, then send them packing .

I think the original post was ;
Someone stating that franson is a top 4 on an elite team. He still is slow and Chicago is not elite.

he is on pace for 65 points

it's not like he is benched for the pp's, he is a leader on the first unit

you can stat me this and that all you want, reality is

10 million a year for a 65 point player is not value, and not a hometown discount

everyone said oh myers took a discount, great contract

then later

oh we got okposo for 6 instead of 7 per, great deal

for 10 million a year, he better be a top 12 player in the game to be on par with what he is making

and to be a value contract, a top 4 player in the game

Or,
Round Hole, Square Peg.

Up front; Moulson, Reinhart, Girgensons, Larsson, ROR, Pommer, and some others I have forgotten who just don’t fit the north/south speed system Housley has implemented.
On the backend, they don’t have a #1, their #2 is inconsistent, and there are air heads in Bogo and Blo-boy who just plain suck defensively.

Lots of work by JBotts to reconfigure this team.
Hopefully there are 3 or 4 forwards in the system who can be plugged in over the next two seasons like Mittlestadt, Nylander, Pu, Asplund and others (Bailey, Baptiste ?) that can play effectively in that system.

Draft well, get Solid D for the likes of the guys above on their way out.

This place is funny as all get up.

- identify guys who don’t fit the system the Coach and GM selected, holy poop you suck.
- Bring up the fact your franchise center has no clue how to play the other half of the game, holy poop you’re ignorant because he is top 5 in primary points generated
- mention the Bills should focus on securing a top QB prospect, holy crap you are accused of killing the guy if he doesn’t produce a Super Bowl in 3 years

And I’m smoking the wacky!

Meanwhile the Sabres with all that talent are tied for last after 30 games, and the Bills haven’t had a franchise QB in nearly 20 years...

Pass me that poop you guys are smokin!
Lol.

1) Identifying ROR and Pommer as "Problems" is not a fact. They are in fact "babies" in the bathwater that is Moulson, Larsson, and Girgensons(though not for lack of speed) that need to be thrown out.

2) It is absolutely not a "fact" that Jack doesn't know how to play the other half of the game. He does, he just doesn't throw his body around. It's like people saying Karlsson doesn't play defense. Except not quite as bad because Karlsson is really, really good at defense and Jack is merely "competent". One player can not carry a team like an elite QB or basketball player can.

3) They're just using the current blame Jack for everything kick people are on and if a QB comes in and doesn't immediately turn the team around people will be doing exactly the same thing.

I'm going with Savage Home Slice. Livin on the edge. Get it crankin.

Jamaal Williams @ Cle, Lynch @ KC or Dion Lewis @ Mia on MNF? Lewis would give me last line of defense, but is apparently a little banged up and listed as questionable. That would be devastating.

For as rough of a game as Risto had last night he ended up only -1.8 CRel%, Jack was +15.4, Pommer led the way with +27.8, Okposo was -25.2 and Wilson was -24.6, the next closest was ERod at -12.4, ouch.

I'm not saying whether they should or not, I was just saying why what was said was said.

If we draft a kid in the top 3 being the best or 2nd best QB prospect, sure he better be damn good in year 3. But if we take Mayfield who's ~5th on the list in the very late 1st or early 2nd I would say that's a bit of a different story.

Good part of it is, they still have room for a Starter and they also will stay at the 197 mill they wanted to be at. I will pass on bringing CC back.

If they are gonna stick Fasching on the 4th line then send him back down to Roch. It makes no sense to keep him up where getting 5 min. a night when he could be down with the Amerks getting 15

that isn't the "top pair". Rutta/Forsling are the pair getting the top QoC. Franson/Keith are getting the O-zone starts for the most part. Seabrook or Murphy pairs with Keith on most D-zone starts.

Franson is an illusion. i honestly think he calculates his CF% every time he is out there. he does have an innate ability to pinch at the worst time.

he is the jay cutler of hockey.

Our undrafted lw in Rochester is so much better than our 1st round bust Rw...
Chalk up another blunder by Murray.

Cj with another goal

Mittlestadt with an assist so far.
