Oh my god, I just saw the Tom Savage hit... Guy lays there having a (frank)ing seizure while the ref looks at him, doctors clear him, send him back out, then when the series is over, they notice "concussion-like symptoms" and he gets evaluated and diagnosed with a concussion.
And only because he has the wrong last name.
Tom Brady sniffs a defensive lineman's fart and it's a 15-yard penalty and no one can look at him for the rest of the game.
Dude is involuntarily shaking, yeah he's fine, tell him to stop being a wussy.
Take the time to watch the replay you can see that jack thinks Kane is doing his job but then realizes he's brain-dead and he has to do everything and it's too late
Let's all blame Jack - GERBE!!!75PTS
why do I have to clean the mansion your dad bought you when you know how to clean it yourself, trust fund?

Damn droppin' truth bombs the past few days.
But really, this is about a perfect of a response as it gets. Jack needs to worry about Jack and what Jack is doing, not his teammates, unless they're shooting the puck he just passed to them or likewise, trying to pass him the puck.
He plays CENTER. It is HIS RESPONSIBILITY to cover THE ENTIRE rink. THAT IS WHAT A CENTER IS SUPPOSED TO DO.
No, he isn't supposed to worry about if Kane has the guy he just let skate right past him. He's supposed to be in front of that guy, trying to take the puck away.

oh my god, i just watched the replay of the OT goal
1,000% on Eichel, holy poop man, that was HIS GUY.
He let him skate right in front of him and blow past him while Kane and Ristolainen were already skating backwards.
Come on, now. Anyone defending this play and trying to point the finger anywhere other than at #15 should stop watching hockey right now. That was pee-wee level poop right there.
alternatively, point it at Fill.
C O A C H I N G. Someone isn't C O A C H I N G his players.
Not to throw kerosene on the fire, but did anyone else see jack swing his stick at th goal post as Lehner skated away to the tunnel alone? Camera panned a bit, but I thought he broke his stick over the goal post.
Then the screen went blank because god forbid I get to watch the post game show or anything even though I spend 40 bucks a month or so for cable on this crap.

yeah i mean that specific play was all on him. I literally can't figure out why he stopped and let him go, did he think the other blues players were behind him or something?

Obviously it's man-on-man coverage in OT, but players have to be more defensively aware. Kane is the last man back and changes direction at the blue line to cover the 3rd man. Eichel had Tarasenko going wide along the boards and Kane gave him the whole zone past the blue line... You can't (frank)ing do that against a player like Tarasenko.
If Kane doesn't change coverage, Tarasenko is going wide and that play is negated.
You need to outnumber guys in situations like that. It should have been 1 on 2 there, not 1 on 1.

Which is what Eichel said postgame. He said he pushed Tarasenko wide and he thought he had someone behind him to pick him up.
And if OT is man on man Tarasenko isn't Jack's main responsibility. Jack would've had either the center or the defenseman, but I think 3 on 3 being like it is it's more fluid than 4 on 4 "D have the forwards and forwards have the D".
And since we don't know what his responsibility was on that play all we're doing is guessing.
If Tarasenko was Jack's man he obviously (frank)ed up, but he played that as pushing him wide and letting whomever was behind him pick him up and he stays at the top of the zone to pick up other Blues. I think teams still don't know WTF they're doing in OT 3 on 3. The Blues almost (frank)ed up big time with an ill-timed change before that.
And as Kaiser said earlier the goal was quintessential Lenner. He succeeded in the poke, but it goes off his stick and inside the post. Even the thing that went right on that play went wrong.

I saw it and then he stood there like a brat staring at his teammates as if it was all their fault.

If OT is man on man and Jack is the center, it's his responsibility to pick up the puck carrier. That's the center's job. Attack the puck carrier. Cover the entire surface of the ice doing it. Don't push the puck carrier to the side and expect your LW Sniper who had just gotten back on defense and turned around to skate backwards right as Jack pushed Tarasenko to the side to then pick up a guy going full speed down the wing.

And if I'm a back-checking forward in Jack's position, I'm smart enough to realize there's no way Kane has the momentum or space to close in on Tarasenko while doing that and I check him into the boards like a normal hockey player would do, or at least pinch him off the puck or force him to the middle.
Evander Kane is a forward. He managed to quickly get back on D and even made a great transition to backward-skating. That's literally all you can ask from a back-checking winger who's main role is to shoot the puck and forecheck.
Jack could have done numerous things in this situation.
He chose to do the wrong thing. He chose to do the lazy thing. He chose to stop attacking the puck-carrier.
That isn't how you hockey and clearly, his coach isn't coaching him and if this is how he's being coached, then clearly, Phillip Housely was the wrong person for the job.

Blame Kane on the 1st goal, but man, Tarasenko just went I'm going to the net Jack & nothing you can do about it in OT. Still Lehner should have stopped it in my opinion. If this team just got their mojo, & got the give a (frank) meter up in the red, they wouldn't be losing so much. But then there's Dahlin.......
