Blame Kane on the 1st goal, but man, Tarasenko just went I'm going to the net Jack & nothing you can do about it in OT. Still Lehner should have stopped it in my opinion. If this team just got their mojo, & got the give a (frank) meter up in the red, they wouldn't be losing so much. But then there's Dahlin....... - Aussiepenguin
People are blaming Jack ?? This is getting hilarious at this point - sbroads24
I think most people are blaming Jack because he is a giant disappointment. Disappointed he doesn't score in Chicago, and disappointed he doesn't continue coverage on Tarasenko in St. Louis.
Jack "Should have been a six-point road trip". He knows he is not performing when his team needs him most. He needs to be better, just like everyone else.

Maybe for Jack. He looks like he is having an uncontrollable emotional response at every game of late. I did not watch Sunday's game, to be honest. I was already asleep from the Bills Game.
He could have been the best player on the ice for the entire game for all I know. But, he certainly let Tarasenko skate right by him. Players need to be accountable for that.
It's messed up that I enjoyed this team more when we had John Scott and Cory Conacher. Most likely due to expectations. That's the real rub as a Buffalo sports fan. Have no expectations and you won't be disappointed.

Which is what Eichel said postgame. He said he pushed Tarasenko wide and he thought he had someone behind him to pick him up.
And if OT is man on man Tarasenko isn't Jack's main responsibility. Jack would've had either the center or the defenseman, but I think 3 on 3 being like it is it's more fluid than 4 on 4 "D have the forwards and forwards have the D".
And since we don't know what his responsibility was on that play all we're doing is guessing.
If Tarasenko was Jack's man he obviously (frank)ed up, but he played that as pushing him wide and letting whomever was behind him pick him up and he stays at the top of the zone to pick up other Blues. I think teams still don't know WTF they're doing in OT 3 on 3. The Blues almost (frank)ed up big time with an ill-timed change before that.
And as Kaiser said earlier the goal was quintessential Lenner. He succeeded in the poke, but it goes off his stick and inside the post. Even the thing that went right on that play went wrong. - Wetbandit1
This always gets me. People complain that the shootout is too much of a gimmick, and then applaud 3 on 3 overtime, which is even more of a circus.
My only takeaway from last night is we need to give the Rochester kids more playing time. Nice effort to come back against the best team in the league (or at least that will be settled tonight when STL and TPA play)
Tarasenko is probably the best player in the league taking advantage of bad defense and it was a lucky goal. I felt bad for Lehner. He played great, again. At least he is garnering some attention. Maybe if someone really wants him we can package ROR or Okposo and dump some dead weight

He had Tarasenko outside and Kane behind him. Eichel and Kane both screwed up, and Lehner barely tried to make the save.
It’s another team blunder that last place teams make
