I think the only one you can say they choked away would be Chicago, and even then I mean look at how tilted the ice was in terms of shots.

They're not a very good team, it's just that simple.

I think they're playing better now than at the start of the season but they have inferior talent. I know I'm going to take some flack for this but that St. Louis game they were engaged. They're just not as good as other teams.

Kane will not sign here and I am starting to believe he is not the solution. LA, NYR, be my guess. Starting to wonder what Housley is thinking as well. Was Antipin a healthy scratch?

You don’t have Las Vegas or the Canucks..

That’s shocking

I don't absolve anyone of blame.

Everyone on this team needs to start taking responsibility rather than stating the standard "I need to play better."

Frankly, they all need to play better and more consistent.

Every single player on this team would look decent if they played better. From the top to the bottom, they have to start figuring it out or removing their heads from their collective asses.

I'm tired of the human centipede of a team that goes out and farts around for 90% of the season and the best they can say is that they need to be better.

Hockey is a fluid game, and when one player makes an unconfident, hesitant play it permeates to the next guy and the next guy, then next thing you know your whole team is back on it's heels and the puck is deep in your zone. Hockey is like a dance, everyone has to be in sync so the game can flow your way. Watching the Sabres is so painful because it's a series of guys playing hot potato with the puck. Every guy approaches the game like "I'm not the guy are you the guy? No not me you take it". That's why even the better players like Eichel and ROR can't do anything because we just play a series of passes that make no sense.

I don't think Kane is as much about big city as he would be $$$.

He has been known to fly to a city during off days.

he also seems to be more grounded this year.

I also don't know anything.

He won't throw Risto in to move either ROR or Okposo.

They were in the 3rd period. They played with purpose. They transitioned well and kept the puck heading towards the net. It's been a rare sight this year. I for one and NOT a fan of 3 on 3 OT. It's not hockey. It's far worse than a shootout IMO.

And if everyone would start playing like they gave a rip about the season, it would be a night and day difference between the current team and the one that would show up.

Is everyone just willfully ignorant of how bad the Sabres were with him out of the lineup?

I'm not saying he's winning us games, but his salary is fine and he's good. Why are we moving Risto?

Per TBN-

"The last time the Bills and Sabres went to overtime together would certainly be considered one of the most stressful – and exhilarating – days in Buffalo sports history. It was Jan. 3, 1993, the day the Bills rallied from a 35-3 deficit to beat the the Houston Oilers in the famed Comeback Game at Rich Stadium, winning 41-38 in overtime during the wild-card round of the playoffs. The Sabres also went to overtime that day, against the St. Louis Blues once again, and Brad May's overtime goal gave the Sabres a 6-5 win."

Shame we didn't win that game last night.

Risto would be more successful if we had a real top pair and there was no pressure on him. We do not have anything remotely close to that and I don't think we will get it soon. He will continue to decline and we could do a Meyers type deal now or just accept the fact he is not as good as we thought and let it ride.

Wow, that would have been cool. How often is that ever going to happen again, especially against the same team. Wow!

Whatever you move Risto for isn't going to be as good as Risto. Why move him for a 2nd rounder that might become an undersized winger?

Yes, I think they could float around the low-middle of the standings and at least entertain us a bit. I don't think they have the depth to be really good yet, particularly on D. But we already know that.

I'd argue the second as well. They drew some penalties, they just couldn't cash in. Especially on the PP it felt like no one wanted to pull the trigger and shoot.

Again, I don't feel it was lack of effort (in the second and third) it was lack of talent and hesitation really. They have to get better about getting pucks on the net or even shot attempts. I thought they hadn't had a 5v5 shot for a long stretch including part of the second. I look at the talent level, we have too many players on this team that just can't do it here it appears.

I'll leave this here regarding ROR:

His pace has him on track for the upper eschelons of 2nd line production while primarily starting in the D zone

Second-Line Centers

All situations range: 39 points to 55 points
Even strength range: 31 points to 39 points

Most people likely wouldn't believe it if you told them an average second-line center is only a 45-point player, but that's the reality of the NHL. The Canadiens had one player who fit this category last season, with David Desharnais registering 37 points at even strength (34th overall, fourth among second-line centers), and 48 total points (40th overall, 10th among second-line centers). Unfortunately, Desharnais was given first-line ice time, and extremely favourable situations to score, so these results are still disappointing. But even so, his point production is that of a good second liner.

I would not move him for a second. I would move him for a Meyers type deal but only packaged with dead weight aka Okposo contract.

Let me explain it.

It really is quite simple, some choose to agree, others choose to disagree.
Some believe that a franchise center should be your best player on both sides of the rink. Others believe it is fine that he “is” the offense and don’t expect him to be as diligent on the backcheck.

That’s it.

Some believe jack is 21 years old

Some believe Jack hasn't been asked to cover/ defend a top nhl player at any level

Some believe the "coach " didn't play defense either. He was lined up at defense, but rarely stopped anyone, ever. They moved phil to forward back in the day.

Jack played awesome last night, exciting game, again entertaining. Imagine watching this poop with out him on the team.

The defensive play in ot was on him and kane. Let's jump on him for not stopping a nhl star on defense?

Pretty funny that Jack didn't get an assist on ERod's goal because the puck tipped Reinhart's skate

It was alright it still was pretty cool that they solved that theory why the Death Star was so easily destroyed lol

Either you have some kind of attention deficit disorder or I'm crazy. Pretty sure it was common knowledge that Princess Leia uploaded the Death Star's construction plans on to R2D2 in A New Hope. Help me Obi Wan, you're my only hope.
