I'm not invested in the sabres at the moment. The only games I've watched in the last month were the shutout streak. I just come on here for the talk if you can believe it

I was late to the party for both The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones.

The one thing Game of Thrones is doing right is ending it while it's still good...even if the final season is three years from now (I'm kidding, I think). Breaking Bad did this as well, and so did Justified on FX, which I enjoyed very much.

The Walking Dead seems to be going the way of 24 where they are running out of ideas and the show itself is outlasting its quality.

I'd tune in for that. The final straw for me was Negan. After a season of him, he just gets so tiresome. The cadence he uses while speaking, combined with throwing his head back and stretching his arms out and then arbitrarily picking a word to accentuate. It's just too much

I never read the books, and probably won't. However, you are literally the first person I have talked to that read the books, and seems to mind it.

That doesn't mean I think you're wrong. Most people I know are so into the show that it can do no wrong. They talk themselves into every aspect of the show being a good idea, even if it doesn't make sense.

RR Martin is a wonderful world builder, but his dialogue, especially when it involves women or children, is terrible.

Say what you will about the pacing of the show since it surpassed the books, the dialogue is 10x better imo

Jack Eichel (frank)ed up his defensive assignment in overtime. Jack Eichel doesn't get paid to play good defense. He gets paid to score. When a player like Eichel has the ability to play well defensively, it's a bonus, nothing more. This should have been a non-issue once the Sabres left the building last night.

I think this is their best series

Yes, I think they could float around the low-middle of the standings and at least entertain us a bit. I don't think they have the depth to be really good yet, particularly on D. But we already know that.

I've never read the books. But there's an obvious shift from season 6 onto 7 when they surprassed George RR Martin's writing. Bad writing, plot holes, predictability and fan service. Game of Thrones has never been about fan service.

except for that scene with the Dark Jedi, I forget his name, who uses his "laser-sword" to hack and slash a bunch of dudes while also force-throwing them around but yeah, how dare a Star Wars movie not have Jedi and the Force in an age after all the Jedi were massacred and there are only about 5 known force users
