41 saves is a monster game

I stopped watching after the first...many quality stops or did they keep in manageable for him?

He made Hasek look average.

NHL reffing is an absolute travesty, it's like they don't know they're on National tv.
- bobbyisno1

It's been an absolute joke. I've watched some games and thought to myself, what has happened to this sport?

Just for fun I was looking up the stats of what the leafs record was after 31 games last year.

12-12-7 for 31 points

20-10-1 and 41 points this year.

They’ve be able to hold leads and not lose in overtime this year.

- bryant

Wow. I knew we were playing better, but 10 points is a huge difference. We keep this up and its smooth sailing into playoff land...

Good god the Oilers just cannot catch a break this year.. Great games against the leafs.
Its soo frustrating that we seem to have the worst friggin luck against the leafs.. McD has not beaten the leafs since they drafted Matthews and its soo annoying lol. They have all been well played tight games, no puck luck at all for the Oilers. You look at Kadris blatantly obvious hold on Mcd last year that led to him scoring the OT winner, you look at Russell scoring on our own net late last game for the loss and now this game the Oil dominate after the first twenty minutes, it wasn't even close. I counted at least 4-5 posts and tons of chances that weren't buried or even shots on net. Don't get me started on that pathetic 5 on 3 for full two minutes with barely even a shot on net. No luck whatsoever against this team. Good games tho, good luck in the playoffs this year. Maybe we will see you there next year.

P.S - 5-0 without Matthews in insane, just shows how much more depth the leafs have. Imagine the Oil record with Connor missing 5 games. Wouldn't be pretty.

- Leichs

I guess we can call the Kadri thing a wash now? (Since McD dragged him down in the first with no call)

As for luck, look how many pucks the Leafs squeaked through the crease... I'd say both teams were getting hosed by the hockey gods. (I'll give you the luck edge because of the Russell incident though )

All around the league. I've been watching a lot of games lately and it's out of hand. A lot of it seems to be the "NHL Rulebook: Score Adjusted Testament".

If you've been on earth for this long and haven't gone a little mad, I'd be concerned.

Consistency has been totally lacking, I agree. And I'm not talking across games because that is nearly impossible. I just mean during a game. Like you said, a lot of calls seems to depend on the score, who is ahead, and who got the last call. Just call it like you see it and do that for the whole game and no one will complain. Well that last bit will never happen

Maybe, but that 5 on 3 was an absolute joke, and the night before when Riellys stick was ripped from his hands to create the 2 on 1 also was an absolute joke, it's like the ref are there to try and even up the games.

Yeah. Ottawa is currently 9 points back of where they were after 28 games last year.

They are 13-0-0 when leading after 2 periods.

What a difference from last year.

I love seeing them suffer. My god were they a bunch of pompous wieners when they even sensed any success.

I think the Atlantic stays how it is right now with 2 wildcards coming from the Metro.

Boston could close the gap on the Leafs. They've been playing well and it would take a couple W streaks paired with a Leafs L streak. Montreal looks lost and I don't see any other team rising from the dead in the Atlantic.

Pretty nice.
Also, even after the crappy month the habs had to start the year, they are only 11 pts back of the leafs...1 back from where the leafs were last year.

Ugh.
