We are a borderline playoff team when healthy....sadly no team is ever healthy so we never had a chance. We need a few more solid drafts before we have the depth to withstand top 6 injuries - CanuckDon

Ducks are supposed to be a deeper team that would win the division again. So look where they are with injuries. Canucks a bottom feeder and have had consistent injuries to key players all season managed to stay in contention. Now the last straws of injury have them tumble down the bubble. Just reality so don't know what the point is? ... Canucks should be better? - Nuck4U
Ducks had been hit way harder with injuries, if they were as lucky as the Canucks up to this point, they'd have more points. Because they'd have Getzlaf playing every game except the last couple just like Horvat.
I really don't even know what the point of this discussion is to be honest. What should I say? That the Canucks were a team that was going to shock the league but got destroyed by injuries and derailed by bad luck?
This is a mediocre at best team turns into a bottom feeder when hit with multiple long-term significant injuries at the same time. Do you agree or no?
I'm guessing anyone who's sane here agrees with that statement. |

But, but........October and November, we were going to win the cup. - A_SteamingLombardi
Isn't that the Leafs, worst team ever, that win the October Cup and November Cup for the last 50 consecutive years?
We win President'Cups.š |

Lol - although folks that thought that the team was good are obviously dilusional, I donāt mind the odd positive outlook compared to all the negative energy surrounding the team. As you have pointed out many times, itās a long, slow process. Good news is we are starting to assemble important building blocks |

That's all part of the rebuild. Good to state it like that. Why don't get such pom poms when things go south given the reality of where the Canucks are at. Is that how cynics celebrate? |

Alright, my bad then. But still you have to stop trying to randomly label posters in some sort of a clique. This isn't high school man. I was just talking hockey. Unless by fake hype you meant the sarcastic playoff posts, which obviously I didn't buy.
So I guess we all agree with the sentiment that this team is still in need of more talent and relies way too heavily on certain players(Horvat/Boeser/Tanev) and when one of them is out then things get rough, especially when combined with the loss of a couple of the team's top PK'ers. |

Lol if you really believe there are cool kids on this thread that may be a sadder statement then Canucks win the Cup in October lol. |

Yes Canucks lack the depth to sustain injuries long term and thrive.
I didn't label you by the way. But you know better about what is going on. |

Yeah, I guess I didn't understand what you were alluding to when you say fake hype.
Canucks lack quality depth, they have enough guys who can fill in on the 4th line and bottom pairing, but they need more quality. This team needs more draft picks, it's not a good idea to rely on 75% of your prospects to pan out, if they do then great but the smart teams are prepared for a few prospects to bust. |
