Why isn't Dorion getting heat for the Duchene trade? 15 times worse than anything Benning has done - CanuckDon

He's waiting to score all his goals in overtime playoffs games.
When I first typed that out and re-read it there was no "s" behind goal subconscious kicking in |

Tried some J. Lohr last night at the Keg on Quadra, nice nice wine! - LeftCoaster
It is a good wine. I came across it at the Keg around 10 years ago and have been buying it ever since. Of course, the older vintages were better before it became super popular wine but it is good to see it still under $20 here at Alberta Superstore and Costco Liquor. The private stores are charging up to $27 for J.Lohr now…. |

Totally upset their team chemistry. Melnyk didn't want to pay Turris and Duchene is two years younger and signed for a couple more years. Their owner (frank)s with the team over there as much as ours does here. - LeftCoaster
I don't like Aquilini but I think he is a far better owner. I get that Duchene is younger but I don't think he is an upgrade and they through in a 1st round pick and a former first round selection. It's crazy |

You miss understood...I was disagreeing with ASL. I believe Guance will be the catalyst that drives us to the playoffs next season. When he finally scores his first goal in November of 2018 the team will rally around his astonishing acheivment |

Funny a regular like Nucker understood but hey if you're unfamiliar about the Canucks:
Examples are:
RFA's Markus Granlund, and Sven Baertschi up for a raise.
With Derrick Pouliot and Jake Virtainan modest bumps.
ELC's that could be added are Adam Gaudette, Elias Pettersson & Goldobin.
Free agent stop gaps to sign could be Dowd, Stecher or type from other teams. - Nuck4U
None of them could be playing for the Canucks next season. One probably and 2 not likely. You are banking on a lot of what ifs & maybe's. |

Agreed. I thought the same once the last TDL, but people liked him due to the Sens playoff run. He's screwed them over with short-sighted moves.
Having to work under Melnyk doesn't help but he's made some dumbass moves. |

Yes I agree Mike Gillis's drafting was abysmal, in six drafts he produced two players, pathetic really. It's too early to tell if Benning's drafting will be good or not but it is most certainly better than Gillis's.
As for the teams you mentioned, you're damn right you don't need to draft top six to find good players, BUT, their success was in large part FROM drafting players at the top of the draft. - LeftCoaster
Your right. Demko looks like a lock for NHL. boeser is definitely a future star player. Virt is a bust for 6OA standards, but will still be a good top 9. Gaudette looks like he will be a 3c min, maybe even a 2c(if he gets that good would be great behind Bo and EP for some real depth at center). OJ looks like a lock for a 2nd pairing and still has potential top pairing(can't teach that IQ). Lind and Gad look good as well, hard to say with them as they were older draft eligible and not superstar level players like EP. I think JB looks good from drafting. At least 2 NHL players per draft(2014 also had McCann and Forsling who are NHLers for other teams, and Tryamkin will likely be back). |

baer and Granny would get much of a bump. Pouliot and JV will get a small bump 2 year deal. we will have a lot of cap space available after we will our roster, there will be a lot fo youth next year and several "show me" contracts. |

Poor Boeser - CanuckDon
Sedins are actually are among the team leaders in passes that have lead to shot attempts.
Gagner blows. Burmistrov blows. Granlund can't play center. Dowd is a question mark.
Outside of the Sedins/Goldobin, there's isn't much playmaking on this roster. Vanek and LE don't really drive play. |
