So Edler has assurances from management he won't be traded in 18/19 his final contract year. He's going to mentor the new core?
- VanHockeyGuy

that is probably worse news then the Sedin's being resigned.

No true top nine centres beyond Henrik right now is really hurting the club, hopefully Benning can address that in the draft....for the future of course, not really worried about right now.

Hindsight but losing McCann hurts right now.

At very least he should be a 18/19 TDL candidate.

The record snow angels. Will ruin any D and every young D Van has. Just look how fragile he made Tanev.

Ya...It does, what's done is done, I just hope they don't go down that same path in trying to shortcut things. Gudbranson hasn't helped the club in any way shape or form IMO.

Hope he can deal him to try and recover some of the assets he sent to Florida.

Gudbranson is also running out of time to make his case for a new deal. So is JB's ability to recoup any assets. I'm sure there's some low ball offers coming.

He does play a part when he is healthy. It's not going well for him right now.

Or the rest of the team. I will give JB this, he had the right idea acquiring a big D that clears the net and causes trouble. It hasn't panned out with Sbisa, Tryamkin, Gudbranson. Hopefully they find their guy one day.

He knew what the team needed and he went out and got it. Sbisa is finally having the season that he's capable off. Tree is having his best season ever in the KHL. Tree is probably still a couple years away from being mature enough to be a top 4 in the NHL.

I don't know why people do this. You can do this with any draft for any team. What's the point of playing"We could've got this guy had we known he was going to be better than the guy we picked".
You need to go back to the desert.

I'm a cruller lover but lately the apple fritter has really been very tasty
- manvanfan

Ya the fritter is making an impact here as well..lol

I stopped buying donuts/food/coffee from Tim Hortons though downright brutal now...horrible products.

Get 'em fresh from Safeway or Co-Op in the morning man so bloody good.

I heard on the radio yesterday that all seven players drafted by the Ducks in 2012(?) have played in the NHL. Pretty impressive!

I won't be flagging this post

I must say though. He added 3 out of 8 players from one team. If you can win 3 out of 7 rounds. I would call that a pretty good draft win.

I agree mostly with this, the team defense has not improved and offense has got worse. Neither are directly his fault, but he was brought in to be tough to play against and the results are the same whether hes been in or out of the lineup

Yeah Tim's stopped making their donuts in house because it was costly. Now they just heat them up there.

I don't care I love donuts.

There is also the equal opportunity aspect of it. There hadnt been that many open roster spots since the 2014 draft for these guys to break into the league, nor the quality of surrounding support. All could have altered each of their development

Because its fun, and sometimes excruciating, to look back. You measure progress by past performance. Personally I like to use it as a measuring stick and yes it can be done for every team as no one gets it perfect, some just more than others.
