Doesn't help the 3 highest paid players on the team have no spine at all. They would probably punch themselves in the face to save the other team from doing it. - manvanfan
Bad mix of everything going around right now. The goal from the redline pretty much solidifies how the rest of the season is going to go. |

The difference in the team that had DD and EG has been noticeable to me since EG went down. The first games, there was push back. Excitement. That has dwindled.
I wasn't suggesting draft toughness at the top. That's why I said toughness takes longer to show.
Toughness isn't just hitting or fighting though. It's being strong on the puck. Strong in the corners. - manvanfan
i get what you're saying and to a large extent i agree.
i just don't get the toughness talk after bad losses. sure, it's embarrassing and infuriating... just like the offense, defense and goaltending on a regular basis.
the fix, as you stated and i agree with will take "longer to show."
that is why these conversations after particular games seem wrong to me. they seem to want moves made right away to address the issue.
as you've said, the fix is a long term one. just like skill. the rebuild has been a long time coming but it's happening and it's going to take time.

Toughness talk is probably because it wasn't a nice loss. That's where most of us wishes the team had a spine.
We've talked about lack of scoring. Having 3 AHL D play per night and 1 guy creating snow angels instead of playing hockey.
The goaltending is "capable" for a team that is as, I would like to believe a .500 hockey club.
We just need something new, which is still old issue with DD out now. |

Well that was just ugly and pathetic to watch, although I support a bottom finish, to increase chances of getting the best player possible, it's still disheartening to have to witness a team struggle so bad because they're missing two important players. - LeftCoaster
It was coming eventually. Actually missing five important players Dorsett, Guddy Sutter Horvat and Baer. That's tough sledding when 5 impact players are out. |

That is where free agency and having cap room come into play for the affordability of the rebuild. - Nuck4U
If Kane is available and wants to come to Van and be responsible. He's what the team could use in their top 6. Kane has to want to come here though. On a decent term and for what he is worth and not open market worth. |

Having a variety of views is great, having someone/some people dogmatically stick to their opinions in light of research and facts is dumbfounding. Especially when it's something concrete like percentages and numbers.
Look, I think you get a shorter end of the stick around here on some things, but dear god the majority of it is you. If you step back and see how many people have a problem with you/think you're a problem, even if you don't know why or think everyone else is wrong, that has to be somewhat concerning and enlightening. The sheer volume. There's no great conspiracy: you rub the vast majority of people the wrong way, constantly. - NewYorkNuck

I can actually see this happening with JB. If we could do Gudbranson for Kane I say make it happen. |

Yeah Guds for Kane wouldn't happen. Van can't pay the price for him. |

Outside of tanev, who played average, every other D looked awful, not just bad, but awful. |
