If you could go into the room, and have the team's full attention, what would you say? - thatsapickle
This would have been said last night after the game.
Practice in 15 min.... Full equipment no sticks.... Your all skating wind sprints... Tomorrow morning 9:00 AM same thing. if we don't play better Friday night.....Sat, Sun and Mon... more wind sprints.
Time to skate with some desperation boys or you will be doing this for the rest of the year.

When does ROR start doing what he preaches he needs to do ? Should the players be forced to watch the post game interviews of the past game before every game as a reminder ? - cabin
What? He scored. It's remarkable how certain players get a pass for not scoring, but ROR scores, and he still gets flack for not doing enough

The flaw in this argument lies in the notion that once a player scores a goal in a game, he's done enough. I don't care if he's doing the scoring or not, but for the kind of money he's being paid, he needs to be a player that when he's one the ice, he needs to be a guy where his team scores more often than it gets scored against. That's what making your teammates around you better is, and Ryan O'Reilly (among a long list of others) does not do that.

So the Ted Nolan days of working hard, are not enough anymore?
Since Jack is still technically on his ELC, does he get a pass?
Can the team as a whole, wake up?
Did Housley say at the beginning that they are supposed to have a shoot first mentality? If that's the case, how are they only putting 20 SOG?

He's making 7.5 Mil to be a second line center, and his points per game is in the upper eschelons of second line scoring. He is doing his job.
The two main complaints about him here are: "ROR talks about wanting to be better too much" which is, I'm sorry, just the dumbest complaint
and
"He makes too much money"
A guy who scores like that and plays PK, PP and 5-on-5 costs $7.5m. That's just reality. So sure, trade O'Reilly, but the next time we find a player as good as him to replace him on the 2nd line, it's gonna cost...

I can live with $7.5 million if I am getting $7.5 million worth of production out of him, and right now, I'm not.
