We need to understand there's no chance Karlsson comes here. Ottawa would be dumb to trade within division. But more importantly, we lack the expendable assets to make that deal. If I'm Ottawa I'd want either Eichel or a combo of Mittelstadt, Risto, Kane and our 1st this year unprotected. While we are shipping Kane off, we aren't in the place to part with our 1st this year, especially given how high it will be, or young players like Mittelstadt.

We really need to stay the course now more than ever. GMTM rushed things, here's where we are. If Botters does the same and goes to get us the "shiny new toy" again, all of us will be disappointed. Not saying Karlsson isn't good, he's one of the best in the game, but we're not in the place to be making those types of trades yet even if we could land him.

If we acquired Karlsson you pay him what he wants. We "the fans" stop worrying about how management handles theirs. All we would focus on is winning.

Ya I mean if the guy comes out and says "hey I wanna play in Buffalo" TPegs can back the Brinks truck up. But outside of Karlsson saying those exact words i'd put it at a .05% chance he comes here.

Karlsson is the least of this teams problems for getting better. You're in the same boat if you trade for a player like that, makes no sense.

It never makes senses to pay a huge price for a players past, we need to pay for that players future. And, Karlsson's future is playing less effective due to injury, approaching 30, soon to be UFA, and wanting 12M.

Give me 21 year-old Karlsson before he went on his rein of dominance and I'll pay Ottawa's outrage price.

it's safe to say he is not an elite scorer... It's been three years we will most likely never get more than 30 goals out of Jack.... So we better find some guys that can score when he sets them up...it what he is best at.
