Not a bad idea. He really needs to step it up. The good news in all of this is that Rhino's an RFA and his negotiating stance keeps going down with each passing game. 2 years @ $2.5 million/yr tops is where he is playing at right now.
I think that Botts will remain patient with him in terms of potentially trading Reinhart. Remember a year ago when Kane was getting in bar fights and accosting women? His value was at an all-time low. Everyone on this thread wanted to trade him for a bag of pucks and 4th rounder. Due to GMTM's and Botts patience, Kane's value has never been higher. Likely will net us a minimum of a 1st rounder and solid prospect.
Most on this thread want to trade Rhino now because he has been invisible. Don't ya' think that every NHL teams scouts and GM's are watching him play? It would be a terrible business decision to sell him now at Reinhart's all time low. The only way I would trade him now is if i got a very good return for him. He is still very young, he was a #2 pick, he had 40+ points in his first 2 seasons. And he is supposedly the smartest man on skates since Einstein! But seriously, what's the rush to sell him off now at a low? At the very least, throw him on Jack's right wing for 30 or 40 games and let him get his points. Then you trade him.

Not everyone
I’ve always maintained that “selling low” is a bad idea, no matter who the player is
Also, that stuff in the bar with Kane was BS
I’ve been a supporter of him (as a player), and it’s good to see he has (apparently) grown up
