As long as Voracek keeps this type of production up (I think he's been involved in something like 41% of all Flyers goals this season), I'll live with his mediocre defensive play. - BiggE
I understand that but I personally don't see any reason why Voracek can't correct the errors that he makes on the defensive end of the ice. They're basic coverage plays. I think the Flyers will be a better team if that happens so I don't think Voracek should get a pass on that just because he is a top offensive player.

I never understood the hype over this show. I tried watching it with whatever girl I was seeing at the time years ago and it put me to sleep everytime. I can get down with zombies but I thought the craze for zombies (in films) fizzled out before the show started. There are some great zombie movies out there pre-Walking Dead too. |

Zach Werenski has 10 (!) goals.
Would anyone take him over Provorov? - aightwebang17
At this stage, Provorov is the better overall player. He is a better defensive player than ZW, though I'm sure both will continue to improve in that area. His defensive awareness, positioning, decision-making, and reads for a 20-year old are astonishing. His offensive skills have always been as good as (or at least close to) Werenski's, he just plays a more conservative game at this point and does not play on as good a team as Werenski. His offense will come I'm sure. You can see him pushing the play more lately.
There are other names from the 15 draft but right now, these two guys are the best of the group. |

That play last night without a stick to hand pass it between his legs to the other corner was a thing of beauty. |

Average win but i'll take it. It's almost as if Elliot needs to have a blunder that leads to a weak goal to kick start himself. After that Sabers goal he was excellent again and with the help of a healthy D core he has been having a strong surge of games. I like this! |

Bill - do you know if Neuvirth is skating yet?
It would be nice if he could play one of the back to back games just before Christmas. |

I don't think he's going to be near Werenski's points total as their careers progress, as he won't likely ever be on the top PP as long as Ghost is here (not an advocate for trading him, just saying). He'll also be behind Sanheim as well in terms of PP time.
I think if Provy was given the same type of usage as Werenski, they would be closer in terms of total offensive output. Currently, Provy has 4 less points in 1 less game.
With all of that said, I do think Werenksi's offensive game is slightly better than Provy's, but I would still take Provy over Werenski. |

Even though Elliot has let in these soft and frustrating goals at times, he usually bounces back strong in that same game. It’s nice; he moves on and looks ahead only. That is one difference I have noticed so far this season between him and Mase. |

That and the post game interviews. I know the Philly media is probably hating Elliott and his vanilla teammate answers. |

A pass? No, not really. But lets face it, he's been in the league for a decade, I'm pretty sure what you see is probably what you are going to get at this point. |

I'm sure he does. On a similar note, draftsite.com has the 2015 redraft going as such:
1. McDavid
2. Werenski
3. Provorov
4. Eichel
5. Rantanen
6. Hanifin
7. Marner - PHL

The Flyers are an average team. Recent games that resulted in wins shows how fine of a line it is for the Flyers in terms of wins and losses. A few plays a game are the difference. Right now they're making the plays that are leading to wins where during the 10 game losing streak they weren't making those plays. They teeter on the edge between wins and losses. That's where this team is.

Hopefully he can fix those issues. I wonder if Voracek blows a routine coverage that leads to losing a game 7 in a playoff series or a Cup deciding game, or any other vital game, if anyone would still be willing to live with it?

I'm actually happy with the work that Elliot has put in this year so far, but I'm nervous about over use at this point.
As of today, Elliot is on a pace to start 60 games. I'm not sure that's a good thing. |

Without a healthy backup Elliott needs to carry the load. Lyon is getting the Stolarz call up right now. Enjoy your time with the team but you aren't seeing the net kid. |

Provorov also gets around 60% D zone starts, where Werenski gets nearly 60% of his starts in the O zone. And while he may have more goals than Provorov, you also have to factor in Werenski playing on Carolina's top pp unit. Plus Provorov has 2 more assists and only 4 less points so they aren't really that far apart.
All that aside, there isn't a Dman in the league under the age of 24-25 or so that controls a game and settles down his team as well as Provorov. He is the total package.
