Jake seems to prefer the perimeter and that's gotta change, if he wants to pot more goals. He is exciting to watch but he sure seems hesitant to cut to the middle of the ice.

SJ & LA are significantly bigger teams than VAN, it will be interesting to see how they handle themselves.

Maybe why bigger and stronger Vanek was put with Sedins. But shaking my head if they lose the puck in offensive zone it could be a 5 -2 rush the other way.

Perhaps TG won't hold on to it and shuffles LE back there instead of helping BB with some grind out work.

I watched Vegas last night and they're not very big but man they're fast, they gave the Pens all they could handle and won the game.

You need size but you need players that can skate and play. Pittsburgh is not a better team with Reaves in their lineup, they lost some depth with guys who can actually play the game, Reaves made them worse.

I watched Vegas last night and they're not very big but man they're fast, they gave the Pens all they could handle and won the game.

Yes it does seem that way or when he has tried to dive he's been stripped of the puck. Which may make him hesitant not to look bad if it turns into a break the other way.

Something JV needs to learn is puck protection to use his body mass. Confidence helps too. Probably why its so hard to develop a power forward. Baby steps though may put it all together by the time EP arrives.

They have more NHL talent than the Canucks do, which is sad. Truthfully they assembled a bunch of players that can skate really well in today's game and they're having success with it. Outside of Fleury and Neal they don't really have too many household names.
