Lots of reasons
Their defense wasn’t banged up like ours was
Same coach, same system, same players
And yes,
Top to bottom their lineup is better than ours
I never said Risto = Keith
I said it was PREMATURE to say he’s done developing
And my point is...
and has ALWAYS been...
HOW MUCH DEPTH MATTERS
Which u obviously just admitted
We have none
I even used Briere & Drury to show how even just bringing in young talent on the 3rd line can make a big difference

Of course depth matters.
If it was only depth, we wouldn’t be the 2nd worst team in the league, sorry.
Our top players outside of Eichel aren’t that good either (except Kane this season)
Kane, Toews, DeBrincat, Keith, Saad, Crawford, Seabrook sucks now, but he'd instantly be our 2nd best defenseman.
We have Eichel, Kane, ROR, Risto.
Also they have the 2nd best coach in the game and they've been playing the same system for many years as opposed to a rookie coach and a new system and players not suited to said system.

Right. Their top players who play big minutes are better. Thank you
I rest my case. You do enough research, all you'd have to go is go team by team and list at least 2 guys you'd rather have now and going into the future. Take 10 minutes at most. You waste more than enough time on this site to make that easy to do.

I’ve listed where he ranks statistically. Burden of proof isn’t on me

Yes, they have more of them to take the load off. They have guys like Panik that get 14 minutes a night and still has 14 points. Ryan Hartman 12:40 14 points. How many players do we even have with 14 points, period?

Okposo has 14 points. Who you conveniently left off your list
And Keith plays 3 minutes less than Ristolainen
And Toews plays a minute less than O’Reilly
And so on
They’re top players play less, and produce more - sbroads24
Because they have better 2nd tier players, so it helps spread the load.
With the Sabres all you have to do is shut down Jack and you win 95% of the time. Top players getting less time means they're fresher. And maybe for a few shifts they don't have to play against the other team's best. Having good depth is making the whole more than the sum of its parts.

Right.
No one needs to focus on shutting guys like O’Reilly or Risto down. They aren’t top tier players
