Just answer this question...
Why is Chicago a bubble team instead of a Cup contender?

- jdfitz77

Depth. Now your turn

Why isn’t Chicago in 30th

Lots of reasons
Their defense wasn’t banged up like ours was
Same coach, same system, same players
And yes,
Top to bottom their lineup is better than ours

I never said Risto = Keith
I said it was PREMATURE to say he’s done developing

And my point is...
and has ALWAYS been...
HOW MUCH DEPTH MATTERS

Which u obviously just admitted

We have none
I even used Briere & Drury to show how even just bringing in young talent on the 3rd line can make a big difference

Of course depth matters.

If it was only depth, we wouldn’t be the 2nd worst team in the league, sorry.

Our top players outside of Eichel aren’t that good either (except Kane this season)

Well when we have legit depth & ROR can be used as offensively as Toews, and doesn’t produce like him...
then I’ll agree with you

Until then,
You’re just ignoring the obvious bc of your bias

How come in your cpmparisons
U fail to say that Pk88 > Jack?

U obviously have a disposition against particular guys & give others a pass (so to speak)

Why would I have a bias against Risto? He wasn’t a Murray guy, which I’ve obviously shown bias towards his moves

Idk...?

I guess we all have our biases
But u seem to really have it out for certain guys

For example with Risto...
I never said he was as good as Keith
Just that he could potentially still be developing

Than all of the sudden
Keith >>>>>>>>> Risto

Well no sh!t
But how doesn that show Risto can no longer improve?

No, because I don’t want to. But I will do this - Minimum 100 minutes

5 on 5 points - Tied for 91st
5 on 5 shots - 48th
Shots for %- 113th
Goals for %- 212th
Points per 60- 125th
Shots per 60- 42nd

My lord. Show me where he’s top 60

- sbroads24

Show me 60 defensemen you'd rather have.

You don't want to because you'd get shredded trying to say Derek Forbort and Josh Morrissey are better.

It doesn’t. But we were past that point.

You made the point that ROR would be better than Toews if the teams were reversed

I’m pointing out that both teams depth is awful, but the difference is that Chicago’s top players are still better than ours

Kane, Toews, DeBrincat, Keith, Saad, Crawford, Seabrook sucks now, but he'd instantly be our 2nd best defenseman.

We have Eichel, Kane, ROR, Risto.

Also they have the 2nd best coach in the game and they've been playing the same system for many years as opposed to a rookie coach and a new system and players not suited to said system.

I rest my case. You do enough research, all you'd have to go is go team by team and list at least 2 guys you'd rather have now and going into the future. Take 10 minutes at most. You waste more than enough time on this site to make that easy to do.

Yes, they have more of them to take the load off. They have guys like Panik that get 14 minutes a night and still has 14 points. Ryan Hartman 12:40 14 points. How many players do we even have with 14 points, period?

Okposo is playing at least 3 minutes a night more than those guys. Pominville plays more too he gets 15:22.

And Keith plays 3 minutes less than Ristolainen
And Toews plays a minute less than O’Reilly

And so on

They’re top players play less, and produce more

Because they have better 2nd tier players, so it helps spread the load.

With the Sabres all you have to do is shut down Jack and you win 95% of the time. Top players getting less time means they're fresher. And maybe for a few shifts they don't have to play against the other team's best. Having good depth is making the whole more than the sum of its parts.

Right.

No one needs to focus on shutting guys like O’Reilly or Risto down. They aren’t top tier players
