Chicago was so stacked, they traded away Ladd, Big Buff, Saad, Campbell, Terravainen, etc etc etc etc

All those guys are way freaking better than the mediocre guys we’ve put out there

Their 4th or 5th defenseman on their Cup teams were probably better than who we’ve had as our #2 the past couple seasons

It’s really weird how Briere & Drury (and the Sabres in general) got quite a bit better when we infused the young talent of Roy, Vanek & Pominville into the lineup

Tell me that didn’t create matchup nightmares for other teams

Now tell me how playing guys like Griffith, Nolan, Pouliot, Larsson, etc on the 3rd line has even a glimmer of that effect

I don’t really care much for 3D

I'm not saying that, but they had the luxury of good depth so they could put a player on a higher line and not have to worry about Saad or Kessel on a lower one to create mismatches.
