No. For a large population base like Vancouver the smog is nearly non-existant. There really isn't all that much industry neither. - golfingsince
Trade winds push it into the valley. |

If Boeser is out, 46 of #CanucksĀ 88 goals (52.2%) on season will be on the shelf
Boeser 17
Horvat 10
Baertschi 8
Dorsett 7
Tanev 2
Sutter 2
It's hard to believe Dorsett is still 4th on the Canucks in goal scoring and he's missed 13 games, something very wrong with that picture. - LeftCoaster

Even with the mountains there to trap it there really isn't that much out there though. |

After Dahlin, who I have as clear #1, there are like 8 players I would be thrilled too get.
As much as I like both Tanev and Gudbranson, we need to move at least one of them this season.
The draft is fairly deep, with some solid picks all the way into 3rd round. - Reubenkincade
I thought up a trade purposal this morning for Tanev
To Tampa Bay - Tanev
For Jake Dotchin, Anthony Cirelli, Libor Hajek, 2nd (conditional if they make conference finals 1st) |

Funny most would say i'm on the pom pom side of things. Ok everyone would probably say.
But to start the year I had said this team is a .500 hockey club this season. Granted the tank after the TDL might put them below that.
I know this team is void of talent, I said we needed at least 2 elite forwards and better D before they compete again.
I am liking what TG is saying and how he handled the club, his execution of said plan sometimes makes me wonder. At some point, he has got to start showing emotion.
My 6
Dahlin
Svechnikov
Boqvist
Zadina
Tkachuk
Hughes
My next 6 are all interchangeable depending on who's drafting where. They are also in the next tier of players. - manvanfan
I won't comment on the picks, it's too early. The coach needs to have the tools to succeed. There's still that void from poor trades and past management which needs to be restocked. It's clear we need at least one more good draft and some good trades. |

There's 3 times the population of Winnipeg in Vancouver. It would make sense that there's 3 times the smog no? |

There's something like 2.8 million people in the lower mainland, for a large metro area there's not a lot of smog, you're right, but it's there. |

Vancouver has the same reading as Winnipeg.
Edit: Also the same as Brandon. |

2014 was a huge missed opportunity and it's hurting the club a bit, not totally catastrophic but every year they miss an opportunity the longer it takes to rebuild.
Having said that, no one has a perfect record at the draft table. |

Like Lefty said it's there, but for a large city it isn't much.
Again, it's related to the amount of industry that the area has. |

That probably was JB's biggest mistake was trading the players he picked. We certainly can use McCann right now. Forsling and Tree as a 3rd pairing instead of Hutton and Stecher.
Like you said no one is perfect. I think JB realized this isn't an overnight process. It's going to take time and patience. |

No mistakes is one of the many things factored into the everything needs to go right. But mainly its development that was the loss here not ranking.
How far and to what degree the young core of Bo, BB, Sven... with assistance of hard effective workers like Sutter, DD, Tanev and Guddy... could push the pace and cultivate more from Granlund, JV and Goldy...we will never know...because that development has been derailed. - Nuck4U
There is a lot that you don't know. |
