Well if you're bored then how about; plug in your wife's curling iron, turn it to high and stick it up your bunghole?? That would be about as smart as these proposals. - Iggysbff

Carey Price for Bobby Ryan straight up. Canadiens get the least crappy contract out of this.
Seriously though, I can't see a team willing to make a trade for Price. Sure there are some really good teams who would become real contenders if they had a goalie of Price's caliber but truth is, his contract is too much of a burden on any team.
An elite goalie should never make as much as an elite forward. You can win a Cup with an average goalie but you can't with average forwards. Price is overpaid by 4-5M and a team would be best served investing that money in its forwards or dmen. |

[quote=SENSible_Fan]Carey Price for Bobby Ryan straight up. Canadiens get the least crappy contract out of this.
You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want Bobby on that wing. You need Bob on that wing.
Bobby uses words like honor, code, loyalty. Bobby uses these words as the backbone of a life spent defending his hockey reputation & team mates. You use them as a punchline. Bobby Ryan has neither the time nor the inclination to explain himself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very enjoyment that he provides, and then questions the manner in which he provides it! Bobby would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way, Otherwise, he suggests you pick up a stick and stand a post at centre wing or on D. Either way, he don't give a (frank) what you think you are entitled to complain about! |

What I am mostly seeing here is that Habs fans seriously over value Price.
He is virtually unmovable with that contract and term without Montreal retaining upwards of half of the deal for the duration.

I trade Fredrick Anderson from the Leafs to Montreal for Carey Price.
Montreal gets a goalie that looks like he could be a stud. Anderson has provwn himself in the NHL. He has a cheaper contract for a team that could really use a couple cheaper, less term contracts.
Toronto gets the best goalie in the world. - JKSoule
Leafs already have the best of the two goalies. Accept it and move on. |

the more i think about it, the less value i see; if price decides he wants out.
he's 30 years old with a full NMC.
the closest comparable i can think of is Luongo. they should get some assets back, unlike the nucks and Lu who was 34.
but nothing high-end. more like a kessel to pitts return. |

I hate the Flyers but they may have what it takes:
To Montreal:
Sanheim-D
Lehtera-C
Hart-G
Elliot-G
1st or 2nd Round Pick in 2019 or 2020 or Scott Laughton (Montreal can choose)
1st Round Pick in 2018 (Montreal can choose either Philly or St. Louis' Pick)
To Phildaelphia:
Price-G - NJDevils29
That is an absurd over payment.

What does that have to do with the teams financial gains? Like talking to a wall I'm done. Bring up a stupid point and redirect. Done this before with you won't do it again. |

Tavares is a rental, UFA. - deadpoulet
Sign and trade? If not you get out from that ridiculous contract. That alone is worth the trade. Price is great when healthy AND he's playing well. I would hate to have him for 8 years under that assumption and most teams I would think agree. |

I think Price is currently untradeable. That contact is crazy so if....if....if.... he could be traded, the team that picks him up must think they have all the other ducks in a row for success this year and the next two... maybe three.
So....
To CHICAGO
Price
Davidson
.5 million cash off of the Price Contract
To MONTREAL
Seabrook
Crawford
Here Montreal escapes the contract as they are no where near a serious contender but get back some salary cap, a serviceable #1 for many more years than Price and a very strong D.
Chicago thinks they are much closer to the Cup so they pick a goalie who, by himself, could be the difference in a round or two and are willing to pay for the opportunity. They lose Seabrook's massive contract, get a young D-man and a far more realistic chance at the cup than they currently have.
