The comparison was give it time as to NHL development of player type or ceiling. Plus Bo is and was more ready and mature then JV to handle NHL demands so the age argument isn't applicable.

You are hung up on his draft position lol and remind everyone of it lol.

Again, listen to Burtuzzi's take on JV not compare their careers. I would be okay with your projection but it's too early in JV's development to know his ceiling yet. Last season everyone was calling him a bust and can't play in the NHL. Patience.

First the details of power forward play and then we'll see about the scoring. Plus who he's playing with too.

More mature and ready despite playing a difficult position means he was and is flat out better lol.

You're putting a ton of stock into Bert's take(who's heart is clearly still in Vancouver). Just because he was a big guy that also played here, doesn't mean what he says is gospel. Ray Ferraro, who has no attachment to Vancouver, said he think JV will top out as Hansen caliber player. A very valuable role guy who is great on the 3rd line and can play in the top 6 if playing with better linemates.

And lol at worry about scoring later...look at most of the legit top 6 players in the NHL right now. Most of them showed more offensive ability in the AHL/NHL/Europe than Jake has, including the bigger/power guys.

Burm, number 14 forward equals ahl
dowd, filler traded for #feelings
strech, not a regular NHLr on most rosters
biega, number 8 or 9 on the depth chart
boucher, ahl all year
guance, zero goals

- Pres.cup

So you're saying these guys are part of the core?

No and look at some other fringe guys like Weber on the Preds excelling. I can provide more examples of ex. Canuck fringe players doing well on other teams.
- Nuck4U

Weber has played more as a #6 dman in the NHL than in the AHL/pressbox in recent years. Not comparable to the guys we're discussing.

It's not filling in if playing in the NHL and keeping that roster spot.
- Nuck4U

Then where is Bo, Sven, Dorsett, Sutter, Tanev right now? Out of the 6 we listed, certainly 5 of them are filling space for those guys.

And holding a roster spot, like Biega does, doesn't make him an NHLer when he only sees ice time when someone gets hurt...

they're not anything enough.

Speed, skill, size, strength, etc.

as I mentioned before the season N baumgartner is the unknown on the staff. While our D has improved much from last year performance wise, Im not sure its enough. We may need a stronger D coach.

but we're what 35 games in? Maybe more time is needed
