Ok. Me bad, just did a little back reading and find my previous post inappropriate.
Here is something that should make up for it

.@rayferrarotsn: In today's game, it's important to have size on the blueline. But the size has to be able to skate, and has to be able to move the puck. The one thing with Gudbranson I'm still waiting to see - I want to see him make a few plays with the puck.

Ray has no filter, just calls it like HE sees it.

Gagner has been playing like Linden Vey so far too
- Nucker101

Gagner had looked like an ahl regular this year, but due to his history I'd say he's an nhler

as I mentioned before the season N baumgartner is the unknown on the staff. While our D has improved much from last year performance wise, Im not sure its enough. We may need a stronger D coach.

but we're what 35 games in? Maybe more time is needed

- SMBDragon

I think optically they may look a little more coherent, but they are giving up more goals per game than last season, and offensively the D have scored 6.8% of the total goals this year, down from 12% the year before (yes both of these are not stats that absolutely reflect the group, but they are a part of why they are worse)

I think new coach, new roles and injuries have been challenging, but I think an argument could be made against saying they are performing better. Just my thoughts

Vanek is slow as (frank) but at least he contributes offensively on occasion. Gagner is just not very good and he's so slow

the Bulldog having a nice game.
- LeftCoaster

Yes. Past two games best I have seen him play in a Canuck uniform.

Does it show he should be in the AHL as has been said?

He does this every single time. Comes in playing like an actual bulldog but then wears out. He plays such a high energy style and he's not big enough to do it so he tails off.

You don't judge a players worth over a two game body of work, pro players can play well for short stints in the NHL but rarely do AHL players play well over 82 games or they wouldn't be AHL players.

they are playing a better system, less like the chinese fire drill in previous years, so that way yes, much better. Improved zone exits and less time to do it in. More nhl quality.

Ya goals from the D are down but optically it seems that is a league wide thing too.

Injuries sure are a thing this season yes.....and maybe more time is needed.

Its ok, he also calls Biega an AHL player...

You're right about what you saw. Codes is pointing out how Pouliot is trending on stats now. He may develop into a 4/5 player. Which is great on trade pick up.

The issue really is there are only 2 top 4 D on Canucks. The rest are 3rd pairings who maybe could develop into 4/5 players. They get further dragged down with AHL player Biega. So the more they all play the harder it is to be effective.
