if you break it down to PPG Gretzky is still marginally better than Mario. 1.92PPg for Gretzky and 1.88 for Mario. Not a huge difference, but still better.

Gretzky dominated the competition like no one else I have ever seen with my eyes (I was too young for Bobby Orr). Mario was insanely good but not as dominant as Gretz.

BB is a machine for bouncing back so quickly. I hope he plays and scores a hatty.

The ones you bolded are the next wave to provide depth on a team if not a key role. Why would you want to lose one for nothing? Are you hoping for more high end free agents to be signed in a couple years? Or you rather protect the Gagner's, LE's etc?

My point was they are not good enough to provide a key role and they probably never will be. Thats why I said if we are worried about loosing them this team has not done enough to improve.
