It's his first full season in NHL. Should we have pegged Horvat a bottom six too? It takes longer to develop power forwards who can play in the top 6 in the NHL. The scoring comes last. Ask Bertuzzi on his take.
- Nuck4U

Not a good comparison.

Bo Horvat plays a power forward game and is only 1 year older than JV. Bo also plays center, a much more difficult position to play as a young player than winger. There's a reason why one guy developed/adjusted faster and better than the other guy, he's flat out better.

Bertuzzi already had a 18 goal/39 point NHL season by Jake's age.

I like Jake, but it's time to get over his draft position and adjust expectations. That way you won't be disappointed later. If he can be a 3rd liner who's a beast on the forecheck and can pop in 15 goals a season then he's still a very nice player to have. A less dirty Raffi Torres or a 3rd line version of Kreider/E.Kane.

I think you just answered it. If they are not regular NHLers then they are not really NHLers (by default the next level below is AHL)

No that's not how it works. Fringe means in between. They are trying to establish a role.

Its exactly how it works when there discussing whether players are in one league or another, "in between" doesn't exist. I might fill in for my boss when he's on holidays but that doesn't mean I am promoted, I still have my job and am next in line to fill when he is absent - same thing here

Boucher, Dowd, Gaunce, Biega, Stecher, and Burmistrov.

Nearly all have passed through waivers at some point recently in their careers. The contentious one is Stecher. I am not sure if the link will work but it goes to a HERO chart that shows him slightly below a typical 3rd pairing defender, which you could say it not NHL calibre

The comparison was give it time as to NHL development of player type or ceiling. Plus Bo is and was more ready and mature then JV to handle NHL demands so the age argument isn't applicable.

You are hung up on his draft position lol and remind everyone of it lol.

Again, listen to Burtuzzi's take on JV not compare their careers. I would be okay with your projection but it's too early in JV's development to know his ceiling yet. Last season everyone was calling him a bust and can't play in the NHL. Patience.

First learn the details of power forward play and then we'll see about the scoring. Plus who he's playing with too.

No and look at some other fringe guys like Weber on the Preds excelling. I can provide more examples of ex. Canuck fringe players doing well on other teams.
