There is no imrpovement, not even a little, this team has regressed. The 2-3 players you say that we do pick up, have done nothing to move this team in the right direction. ROR and Okposo are horrible contracts and will be, by the time this team is going in the right direction both of those players will be worse. ROR has 8 goals and is a minus 18. Okposo 5 goals minus 14, Risto 0 goals minus 13 and 9 points. This team has done nothing but regress. The players I named are just a few, I can go on.

What is getting better to watch ? the Bruins were on a back to back and shut us out with a back up goalie. Eichel has 4 points and the team comes back only to figure out another way to blow it again. That's just a few games I can mention. How many times have we been shut out this year, what's getting better ? our number 1 D man Risto, is completely lost and the guy that everyone hates is leading the team in scoring.

plus, minus is just part of it, these 2-3 players you say have done nothing. This team has done nothing but regress in the last 2 years. This team has no identity or game plan. They play not to lose every night, they have no confidence at all.

I wouldn't say I'm smiling with the situation. But I'd rather watch a hockey game than sit around at my sister in law's house with her, my mother in law, and the Ukrainian talking about who is the better hostess.

That's really something to complain about.

The problem on this board is that too many people focus on wins/losses and can't appreciate incremental improvement. The process that the team and its fans are going through is a long one.

Murray tried to make it short one, and it didn't work out: I think it's ridiculous how many people on the board want to female dog about how he screwed the team all up by trying to shortcut the process, on the one hand, and at the same time female dog that the process is taking too long.

If this franchise can pick up 2 or 3 players every year who begin making meaningful contributions to the franchises success, and who are getting paid market rate for their contributions, I can live with the fact that we're making incremental improvement, and know that the process is heading where we all want it to go.

That doesn't mean I'm satisfied with mediocrity, or mere participation.

Because the room for improvement has been cut in half with the moves Murray made. It would be different to be in 30th with a ton of cap space and a top end prospect pool. There would be logical reason why we would expect improvement year over year. Right now we’re banking on what?

We don’t have that. We have young guys getting worse (Reinhart), guys who were viewed as really important pieces who just aren’t very good (Ristolainen) and that happens with every team. Guys don’t pan out, but when you rebuild, you need to leave room for error. Murray didn’t.

Oh, and we play a very boring style 75% of the time. Which I thought wouldn’t be the case under Housley

We need the right combination of players but my biggest fear is Botterill tries
to " remake " the Pens. We don't have that kind of talent.
