Does the sobbing intensify after a Bobrovsky shutout?

No, I just stare at my Carter Hart posters

Considering I work across the street from NVMC, I would love to be able to get out of work at 5 and walk across the street.

I have no idea if these are just concepts or actual mock-ups of what they intend to build. But here you go:

Notice how low the roof is. That was something that was a sticking point for the community, if I recall.

It could look like a beat up old barn and we'd all love it anyway. This should have happened 20 years ago.

Cuomo press release: NYS “will negotiate with the New York Islanders to ensure they will play as many games as possible at the Nassau Coliseum while the state-of-the-art arena at Belmont is being built, returning the Islanders home to Long Island in the nearest possible future.”

I love those idiots who come to a board meeting and complain about something as stupid as the height of it. Get a life...

I vote for putting the entire thing underground, like some sort of evil lair.

I don't think there is one yet. I'm sure that will come in time.

I think the early favorite would have to be "Northwell Health Arena" or something Northwell-related.

I know they have to play at least 1 more year in BK due to contract obligations but since BK wants them out and they don't want to be there I wonder if they could start playing back on LI next year?

Well yeah the same group manages both (I know you know this) the Coli/Barclays, so I would have to imagine they can kinda do whatever they want, in terms of breaking the lease early.

Ledecky could give no timetable of when the Belmont arena would be completed. Only said it would be "as soon as possible" and "we're moving as fast as we possibly can."

Said he was confident the #isles would have a place to play in 2019-2020.

That would be the second year of a potential Tavares extension

Ledecky, on who actually will own the arena: It's "a private matter at this point."

And finally (because it was worth a shot!)...Ledecky wouldn't really bite when I asked him if this could help retain Tavares. "I think this arena will be a magnet" is as far as he'd go.

Very Happy to hear this. I wish someone would do a serious expose on Nassau Colosseum and just how deeply flawed it was as a modern facility so people could understand the challenges behind this franchise.

Hopefully this is the light at the end of the tunnel cause Brooklyn was only just a short term band aid.

I don't give a s**t where they play the next two seasons. As long as they're in their own new arena in Belmont by 2020-21, that's all that matters to me. The venue certainty is something this team hasn't had in 30 years. Now, lets get JT signed and find a f**king goaltender that can stop more than 70% of the shots he faces and we'd be all set!

I thought i read something about calling it the Al Arbour Arena at the (insert corporate sponsor name here) pavilion or something to that effect?

This team and fan base has endured so much over the last 30 years, the Don Maloney and Mike Milbury years, to the countless owners serving or have served prison time. This is the biggest win the franchise has had since Game 4 of the 1983 Stanley Cup Final.

AMEN !

Larry Brooks mentioned Al Arbour Arena. Have to think it will be a corporate name though.

The sooner the better. Lets get the true fan base (which is out here in Nassau and Suffolk), excited and back to being able to see their team where they belong.
I can see the place being sold out every game up until Belmont is complete and ready to go.
