Ledecky, on who actually will own the arena: It's "a private matter at this point."

I wouldn’t trust Nassau county for a second plus you have the aholes in Elmont already making a stink they may not be able to stop it but they sure can slow it down to where it could take 4 or 5 years to happen and that would be a shame

It's so great 7 and one of the best things is it takes all the excuses away.
- ses111

That it is Ses! As far as the excuses the Islanders did have legitimate excuses as far as the team not wanting to spend money and also the NVMC was out dated, etc. This did effect the FA's not wanting to come here but as you said, The excuses are no longer believable or legitimate. The New Owners have made a huge move here in making this franchise a legitimate top destination for players in the league. The practice facility with state of the art equipment for fitness and rehab to a team chef preparing meals. The family amenities, suites and family rooms at games have all been part of L and M vision of turning this into an upper echelon team in this league and now with the approval of the new Arena they are well on their way.
As an Islanders Fan from the beginning I see the light at the end of the tunnel and it sure as hell feels great to be the ones in the league everyone is talking about and in a positive way.
Thank you Mr's L and M

The sooner the better. Lets get the true fan base (which is out here in Nassau and Suffolk), excited and back to being able to see their team where they belong.
I can see the place being sold out every game up until Belmont is complete and ready to go.

#Isles WILL play at Barclays Center for the 2018/19 season. After that the organization is exploring options. Possibility of games at Coliseum, and Barclays or a combination of the two. #NHL @MSGNetworks

One thing you'll never take away from Snow is excuses. He'll come up with new ones we'll most likely start hearing them in the next month or so.

He can try and I'm sure he will mentioned de Haan, but with two #1's and two #2's and prospects to trade, he has no real excuse.

We’ll I’m happy the islanders won the bid believe me or don’t I’m just pointing out some of the crap that could happen especially if the tax payers have to foot the bill

No you're not
Everytime you come here it's a negative spin on something positive going on with the Islanders. Last time you were here the soccer stadium was of course the more likely winner of the bid. Not too long ago was along the lines of Tavares not signing here. Nobody cares man

Nope.

New York Arena Partners (a group of private individuals and corporations) will finance the entire $1 Billion project. Will have a 49 year lease and will pay $40 million in rent.

Why does that sound in any way that taxpayers are getting stiffed with the bill? Because they don't want to disclose the various ownership stakes?

The county and town have as much say in the matter as you or I do. It's state land.

#Isles Transaction: Shane Prince has been recalled from his conditioning stint.

Is there another Shane Prince that plays defense? Like how we got the other Sebastian Aho that plays defense?

Does lack of offence count as defence?

I get that people are probably weary of the government, but there hasn't been one iota of anything reported that would suggest that taxpayer money is going to be used for this in any capacity.

Apparently anything qualifies as defense if you're the Islanders. Loaf of banana bread? Defense. Face wash? Defense. Half-melted candle? Defense.

I see. Would you then perhaps trade Pulock to the Oil for a bottle of face wash, one unmelted candle and a fresh baked loaf of banana walnut bread?
