Everytime you come here it's a negative spin on something positive going on with the Islanders. Last time you were here the soccer stadium was of course the more likely winner of the bid. Not too long ago was along the lines of Tavares not signing here. Nobody cares man

I get that people are probably weary of the government, but there hasn't been one iota of anything reported that would suggest that taxpayer money is going to be used for this in any capacity.

The owners will get approval for these to be tax-free municipal bonds (just as was done with Barclays, Yankee Stadium, Citifield). Thus, the Federal and NYS Government treasuries will be deprived of taxes that will have to be made up some other way. It's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

Probably, but it's better than flat-out taking taxpayer money to build the stadium. The impact of tax-free muni bonds will be minimal compared to just funding the build through resident dollars.

If there were any kimd of significant tax increase due to the arena there would've had to have been a state vote and a Nassau county vote. It's not poof we're building an arena and increasing your taxes suck it. Not how it works we should all be well versed in this by now.
