As you know you can't have every draft pick making the NHL. I like Jake's game this year and you see it improving month to month. That makes 3 young exciting forwards and with any luck in the next year or two if you can develop 2 or three more then we may have years of entertaining hockey. Brock is a surprise bonus. He is steadily working his way to the upper status. When people talk about having a Draisitl or Pasternak well we have a Boeser. - VANTEL
The games are finally exciting again crazy what a difference one player can make! |

I have liked Jake's development as well. He still has a ways to go, but last night there were more flashes of his top end potential. Consistency seems to be his biggest issue, hopefully he isnt satisfied with the big steps he took in the past 12 months and continues to up his work level the next year or two |

how about that Brock tho?
What a stud.
edit. Future captain. - dbot
Only thing that matters is Brock's contention for the Calder...don't give a poop if we win/lose just want to see the effort. Need two more top 5 picks and we're set. |

Ya 99% of posts are easy to pass. Every once in awhile he can string a sentence together but a lot of it is jibberish. Thought it would get better. |

I know no one saw Vegas coming. A team full of 3-4 liners and ahead of the Nucks by almost 15 pts... - LordHumungous
Marchessault scored 30 goals last year
James Neal's been scoring at a first line rate his entire career
Perron has always been up and down but he's a second liner when he's on
Reilly Smith has been putting up solid 2nd line numbers for 5 years
Vegas are a definitely a surprise but to say they're a bunch of 3-4 liners is just not true |

I think it goes to show that young players can develop in the NHL, we're starting to see him more in the third period which is another step forward. I'd really like to see him in OT and slowly start seeing him on the PK, it would be a great way to nudge Gaunce out and with Jake's speed, he'd be more effective than anyone of our current PK-ers. I think he'd take the next step in his defensive positioning and awareness too. |

I will have to disagree on that, mainly because the player we see today is largely due to his time spent in Utica and that I dont see a large difference between the player we saw in training camp and now. The difference for me is that he is more consistently engaged and more confident
There will always be a learning curve entering the NHL, not many young players can come into the league and light it up, so there is some "development" per say, but he came into camp and made the team based on the work he put in elsewhere IMO |

I was about to post the exact response, it is good to see the confidence in the kid, his hard work is starting to pay off.
And I also have to agree with Nuck4U on his observation that Green made a mistake by sending out the Sedins on the second shift, and Edler is ...well Edler.
But I like the never say die attitude the team in general is showing most games. Except the backchecking Sedins |

Way more entertaining to watch. I like how they play this season and like Vantel & Steaming, I'm not falling asleep during most games like the past 3 seasons.
The Sedin'd 'defense' is appalling at times. |

Good game, I try not to focus on the teams veterans, too frustrating. The rest is fine. |
