The Evander Kane trade is maybe the biggest misstep Tim Murray made as GM.

Kane is a good player, who will be leaving town, after playing 0 important games as a Buffalo Sabre. We will get futures in return, and those futures will take 2-3 years to develop. All while moving the same type of futures 3 years ago for Kane. It makes 0 sense.

Not to mention saddling us with Bogosian, who’s isn’t close to as good as the D man we swapped him with.

Think about this- He identified Josh Gorges, Zach Bogosian, and Dimitry Kulikov, as guys he actually wanted to give up assets for to play defense for this team. Take a step back think about that.

How do you know how many terrible draft choices he made? He had a fair amount of hits in Ottawa now that enough time has lapsed to evaluate.

my big issues with murray

1. he made the big moves 12-16 months too early
If you don't like Myers fine, move him but don't make a trade to effect the future when there is no future

2. he overpays for who he really likes

3. he ignored rochester

If he waited 1 more year to make the moves we would be in a much better place and he may still have a job with the sabres
