The return for a player like Girgs though, even if he went on a 10 game pt streak, would be minimal at this point. What's the point of showcasing a guy who would get a 3rd round pick returned at best?

If we were seriously showcasing everyone then Johnson would be getting more time, Pouliot would be top line and Antipin wouldn't be getting benched for Gorges. I get where you're going and perhaps with Reinhart that's the case, just seems to have too many discrepancies between other players like Pouliot who are almost assuredly going to be moved come TDL..

But even Weber was playing games regularly. Gorges will play what 25-30 games this year at max? Antipin could lessen that with solid play.

Maybe some team offers us a 7th or a Muzito-Bagenda (sp?) for him at the TDL as insurance, but IMO those type of returns aren't worth downgrading your actual lineup.

If weber got us a 3rd, gorges is going to get us a 3rd. Some team will want a veteran like him down the stretch. He's perfect as a 6/7
