I Love DK, Great career. He would be the first guy I try to move. A Cup contender easily takes him. Hawks cant live in the past. Must be prepared for the rebuild. Its here sooner then we think.

He's preparing his statement for the postgame about how the Hawks were not prepared for this game.

You guys keep trashing players and then want some other GM to take them for value.

Don’t you think other teams have scouts that see even more than we do? Don’t you think other GMs know exactly what their contracts are?

Toews - 7 years at $10.5; Seabrook - 6 more at almost $7; Keith - for better or worse, they aren’t going anywhere.

Refs are a bit brutal so far. Weak call in the first and baffling call here in the 2nd.

The most creative and best player in the top 6 right now is the guy making less than 1 million.

Some guys still have value. On a bubble playoff team, a GM may over pay. On a very good team, a GM may take a Seabrook if it means a better shot at a Cup.
The dollars and length of the contracts is on Stan. He needs to be held responsible if these contracts ARE un-tradable.

The 19 year old 5’8” 160 lbs rookie showing more physicality than the Captain. Is it far enough into the season stop using the Toews starts slow excuse? Must be his linemates?

Kane showing up.

On Thursday.....will Sharp be a healthy scratch?

Or waived?

A sad end to a very good player.

You are right....nobody will take Toews contract at 10.5 M but if you keep 3 million and give the other team a couple of IceHogs... Who knows?

AA looked like he was in some pain on the bench. DeBrincat skated a shift with 8 and 88 and Toews was double shifting centering Panik and Hartman.

He’s been fine. His center has been brutal. Saad looks like Stahlberg 2.0 right now. He can’t do anything but skate. His puck possession has been terrible. I don’t understand the criticism of guys making league minimum or 1 mil while the high paid core is skating around like they don’t give two franks.

Sharp isn’t the problem. The problem is 19,2, and 7 have been far below what they are paid to be.

Without Kane this team doesn’t crack 80 pts.

Fine - the Seabrook and Toews contracts are on Stan - so what.

No GM on a very good team is going to take on Seabrook’s contract for a defenseman who is right now a 3/4 blue liner - even if the Hawks keep some money - and I doubt that Rocky or McDonough will hold back $2/$3 MM for the number of years left on the deal.

So even if Rocky says ok to paying Toews $3 per for not being here, do you think some other GM will pay him $7.5 per year for six more years? A player we think is a third-line center at this point?
