I honestly don’t remember Saad being this type of player. He can’t even drive the net with speed. He doesn’t even look like one of the fastest players on the ice.

Schmaltz is quiet the crafty back checker. Hope he puts on some muscle and figures it out. Like shooting the puck. He has a lot potential and elite speed.

You guys keep trashing players and then want some other GM to take them for value.

Don’t you think other teams have scouts that see even more than we do? Don’t you think other GMs know exactly what their contracts are?

Toews - 7 years at $10.5; Seabrook - 6 more at almost $7; Keith - for better or worse, they aren’t going anywhere.

If the Hawks retained 70% of Toews' salary, honestly, don't you think another GM would want to build an AHL team around Jonathon?

Fine - the Seabrook and Toews contracts are on Stan - so what.

No GM on a very good team is going to take on Seabrook’s contract for a defenseman who is right now a 3/4 blue liner - even if the Hawks keep some money - and I doubt that Rocky or McDonough will hold back $2/$3 MM for the number of years left on the deal.

It would be interesting to read the criteria the NHL requires on contracts. There are incentive bonuses for levels of performance on the upside, but what this league needs is disincentive discounts for performance on the downside. (I understand the CBA and the players assoc perspectives) Pay for play. I think this would ensure better play. I am sick of some of these guys playing lights out in contract years and then regress after getting their contracts. That's B.S.!!!

Yep Sharp is the reason this team is losing....some of you guys crack me up. How crap drop passes has Keith made this year? 25-30? How many brutal turnovers has Toews had? This team has one line again. This year its not as potent because the Hawks tried to bring in help for Toews. Which in my uneducated opinion as been a complete bust.

I totally agree...Junior Ambassador Patrick Sharp. I don't think he is in the same ambassadorship category as Savvy, Stan, Bobby, & Espo thus the junior designation.

It was no secret the Devils are a real fast team.

I would have had Hinostroza in for that reason. It doesn't look like it would have made a difference but NJ came out with a ton of pace to this one and Hawks didn't have an answer.

Do you watch the Hawks? Kane doesn’t just cherry pick. He’s also coached to stay up high in the dzone and plays plenty of D as a wing. He’s the Hawks best player and hardest worker. Probably the best RW in the NHL.

Except for your the fact you made a backhand comment that all he does is cherry pick and that he does not play any D. Both are inaccurate. Playing high in the zone isn’t cherry picking. He’s not going to win a Selke but his defensive game is just fine these days.

Who knows if Rocky holds back 2/3M? Maybe the league will again have a 2 player buyout as part of the players union new contract.
