We should be sellers.

Get what you can even if you retain half, at least you can re-invest close to 9 million between JT and Seabs....better that than seeing them poop their pants night in night out not too mention bringing the team down as the effort and passion is gone.

Do it now while we still have some good years with Kane and CC.

We need to get a Hossa blood sample and inject all these high salary guys with equipment allergy disease so we can LTIR all of them.

We had a fantastic run and Hossa and many of these guys are Hall of Fame bound despite currently being anchors. How nice they all were to watch.

Boy Eddie O needs a haircut and the lighting and makeup on WGN did him no favors this evening. He does not look his normally dapper self this evening.

You know what he has been going through right?

I'd move Seabrook, if I could, before Keith.

You guys keep trashing players and then want some other GM to take them for value.

Don’t you think other teams have scouts that see even more than we do? Don’t you think other GMs know exactly what their contracts are?

Toews - 7 years at $10.5; Seabrook - 6 more at almost $7; Keith - for better or worse, they aren’t going anywhere.

Yep but for a cup run 2/7/6 can get returns especially 2 lesser so 6/7

Curve ball this whole team and make a HC change. HAS TO BE DONE! Need a whole new thought process and player expectations in that locker room.

Chemo might have a little to do with his coloring.

If the Hawks are not a wild card team by Feb. 1 ...might as well be a seller and hope for a good lottery roll. It would be better than sneaking in for a final playoff spot and exit in April ... And watch the core get another year older!

While he isn't having a great season (especially on the PP) I don't think Keith is vastly overpaid in terms of the cap. The guy plays the hardest minutes on the back end typically and hasn't exactly had another top pairing guy to play with. Sure, maybe he would be better at like 4 million cap hit but his cap hit was bargain for many many seasons as well.

I know about that, but that isn't why he looked disheveled tonight vs the last broadcast. The lighting sucks on WGN and the positioning caused poor shadowing on his face.

It sure looks that way, their isn't any fight either, they get pushed around
like beachballs. when was the last time Bouma hit a body? He's useless
but since he's on Q's good list he keep's playing.

With so many MIA it sure looks like it's on Q, but motivational and
strategically.

Dallas targeted #8 and there was no one there to stand up for it. That's b.s.

How do you know that’s not why? His hair looked thin too. He hasn’t been around much lately. Wouldn’t be surprised if he went through a kemo cycle recently.

any of you catch Foley with a little criticism of Toews at the end of the 2nd? Mentioned his two consecutive below par 58 point seasons and how he is on pace for even fewer this year.
- matt_ahrens

Oh yeah.....I caught it....and....I'm sure Mr. Foley will get a talking to by somebody from Mr. Mac's marketing and PR departments about it too. As I've posted before, Jonathan Toews is the face of the organization and is being given every opportunity to find his way back to form. Negativity about him will not be tolerated. He's been the Captain for 3 Stanley Cup teams and along with the HOF coach and GM, can not be chastised for poor performances or horrible player decisions.

VINNIE makes this team play faster whether he scores or not.

I'm really not sure who they will be able to trade. 88 and 50 are tradable, but the are also the two best players on the team. I think they need to stay. I can't imagine the team trading 2, 7, or 19 just yet. 20 is staying too. 15? Maybe he'd waive to go to a contender. 14? Ok, if someone wants him.

But maybe you shut down Toews for the rest of the year and see if he can get his back healthy again. if 7 and 2 are dealing with health issues, maybe they get a rest too. See what some of the guys in Rockford can do. Give the young guys on the roster some more experience.

Rumors are the cap is rising by more than average this summer. Continue the transformation of the roster in the off season and come back next year with one final push with this core and hopefully some new additions. Go full Bill Veeck and rent a few players if you need to. If it doesn't work, a couple guys retire and you rebuild.

Poor Eddie is struggling for his life right now - I believe his appearance is the last thing on his mind. Might want to cut him some slack.

Maybe , I have been in a fog the last two years drinking some KoolAid but most of us on this site have been talking about Toews problems for 2 years. What makes you think a month or so of rest and Holy Water will get Toews going again? Remember, Toews and Co. Have had extended vacations two years in a row.

At start of year thought borderline wild card . Now I think this is a non playoff team. Please Stan don't trade off assets just to try n make
The playoffs. Keep playing the young guys and hopefully we can back stronger next year with added experience and some twicks.
Unfortunately I think we're headed for a few mediocre sEason with our contract situation
What a good run its been

That’s on the coaches for leaving him out there. Keith isn’t overpaid. He’s just not quiet the Keith he used to be. His cap hit has been a steal for years.

Neither is Toews or Seabrook. But Keith or his contract isn't the problem on this team.

He's not effective on the PP but there's not a lot of choices on this team to play PP point.

I agree. This is the third year in a row his play is down; this year being worse than the previous two.

He could be done, I don't know. But it could be that he's dealing with something that rest and rehabilitation (or surgery) would help, like his back and/or concussions. He seems to be avoiding contact. Six or seven months of not getting hit might do him a lot of good.
