No it goes back to Hamhuis where he came out and said he is not going to ask players with NTC to waive them. Vrbata too.
- VANTEL

But this just isn't true. He did ask them to waive. He may have lied to the media but he tried to trade both of these players. The only players he won't ask to waive are the Sedin's

Based on where the team is in its development , I'm totally fine with 4 more years of Benning. His drafting alone is worth keeping him on. Upgrading the prospects in system in my opinion is still the single most important step to getting the team back to respectability. An ideal situation would be a new gm and Benning just dealing with scouting and talent evaluation. But it's highly unlikely he's willing to take the step back. So keep doing your thing Jimbo... you've got us on the right track !

"his drafting alone" ..... I don't think his drafting has been that great considering he's had four drafts to work with. Not terrible but not great either. Yes he's made a great pick with Boeser but he doesn't have a lot else to show for his work. Trading away or mismanaging kids kinda negates any good you've done in the draft in my books. Last year looks to be good but so did all the others.

Forsling, McCann, Virtanen, Boeser, and Tryamkin. They are all NHL players. If you can find 2 NHL players per draft that's a success. Well Gaudette and Pettersson are locks. That 7 players. 2 of Lockwood, Brisbois, Demko, Dipietro, Lind and Gadj will likely make the NHL. 9/10 players is a pretty decent haul for 4 drafts!

Edit. forgot Juolevi so that's 10 or 11 players!

Okay I don't like him because he is a liar then

I am not rallying the troops to fire him . There are certain things I like about him and some stuff I don't like. I do personally see him as meek but that is just my opinion.

I am not crazy about some of Canucks structure . I don't like Weisbrod Linden or Smyl
but I do like it's drafting team less Delorme.

And it starts all over again

Think I’d rather 10 pages of arguing over this shtick again.

It's slow right now, a good old debate rekindles the fire

It is not really an argument. Boys are just discussing whether JB deserves a new contract. He is due and we are just voicing yes or no. No name calling or yelling.

EK says Leafs in on Tavares and Karlsson, that would be bad for the rest of the league

I get what you are saying I am just viewing the draft and his trades seperately. I would say he has a B record at the draft and a C+ rating with his trades. a B- overall. Pretty average.

As I said, his drafting hasn't been terrible, it's been ok, he's hit on most drafts. But again if you're trading those good kids away for shortcuts then in my mind that negates any good you've actually accomplished.

I think he has had a good year. Once he learns to control his game it will be fun. I don't see him as a power forward though. Gadjovich would fill that role more IMO

Good thing he's being developed in the best development league in the world, the NHL!
I wonder how long until he's called up to join tree and vey in the KHL?

If Tryamkin, McCann, Ehlers and Forsling were here, people would be a lot more excited than they are now with just Boeser. They could see a plan, a vision, a path forward in what's is fast becoming a young man's game.
