I know right. Blind envy. It's like the comment Lefty has said a number of times. "At least the Leafs don't trade away their picks like the Canucks". He said that after the Leafs traded a 1st and two 2nds in a one year span. One of the additions was a rental 4rth liner for a 2nd.
At least the Canuck's don't trade away their higher picks anymore like the Leafs do. That would be more accurate. - boonerbuck
you can't see the forest for the trees but you hang onto that thought because I know you think it gives you something to hang your hat on.
The truth of the matter is they had two first round picks when they traded one for Andersen and they also had the very next pick after the 31st pick which they traded for him.
Not to mention they felt they were ready to compete after rebuilding for a few years. |

Forsling, McCann, Virtanen, Boeser, and Tryamkin. They are all NHL players. If you can find 2 NHL players per draft that's a success. Well Gaudette and Pettersson are locks. That 7 players. 2 of Lockwood, Brisbois, Demko, Dipietro, Lind and Gadj will likely make the NHL. 9/10 players is a pretty decent haul for 4 drafts!
Edit. forgot Juolevi so that's 10 or 11 players! - CanuckDon
I’d say it’s more 8-11, as many of these guys could not work out. I agree he’s done well in the draft. It’s his UFA/tdl(lack) and trades/contracts I think most take issue with. Including me. Four more years? I’d at least ask around and see who’s available/ interested first. |

A great example of Eastern bias was Troy Aikman and Joe Buck at that last Seahawks game. Those two are an embarrassment to football. |

Aikman hates the Seahawks, it's embarrassing they allow him to comment as a colour guy on those games. |

Ha...It's not that simplistic boss. At least in my opinion. They are 5th overall in the league despite Matthews concussion issues and both Nylander and Marner having the sophomore slump, Canucks are 5th last.
If they added Tavares and Karlsson to their current group, even if it costs them Marner and Gardiner, they have a good team. - LeftCoaster
Leaf's cap space: $0m
Marner and Gardiner cap hit: $4,894,167m
JT and Karlsson cap hit: $12m |

Ya that's why I just said we'll have some depth in the near future (hopefully) that they currently have. Tavares and Horvat down the middle with some good wingers like Boeser and even start Pettersson on the wing would be a very good young team!! - LeftCoaster
I would think Canucks have a better chance of landing Karlsson.
His contract ends after next year. Canucks have a love for Swedes and will have 30 plus mil in cap space and some good young prospects. |

Well obviously they'd have to make more moves, however, I wasn't advocating they do it, I merely suggested EK put it out there that they'd like to get their hands on them. As most teams quite understandably would. |

It's my fault, I said EK suggested the Leafs would like to get their hands on them and all of a sudden it came across like I was saying they should.
I simply said that they'd be a scary good team if they could make that happen. |

The odds of either EK or JT making it to free agency are slim. However, it would be fantastic, i wish it happened more often. But it seems like players have too much loyalty sometimes when resigning. |

I could see them making it to free agency especially EK .Ottawa ownership are becoming a spectacle with a lot of bad moves |

I would love for the Canucks to throw whatever the max salary is at him to add to our young group coming up. By then Pettersson is hopefully our #1 center and Horvat is an excellent #2. Boeser on the wing with Lind and Gadjovich scoring 20+ goals each....dream scenario.
Oh and Demko winning the Vezina as a 24 year old |

The anticipated meltdown in the event of a Gudbranson trade. Especially when the GM's trying to get extended.
