My bad, I lost track of who said what.
My original response was towards Bandits post in which he seems to project a win vs LAC when he went off on McDermott.
Then you replied to my response about counting on that to be a win as a large assumption...thought it was Bandit not you.... my bad.
I do agree with you that The Pats get every benefit of the doubt, it can not any longer be considered coincidence. They must have pictures of several high placed league officials - IonSabres

It's becoming a holiday tradition. Put the Sabres on hold and start paying attention to the World Juniors. |

The tournament being in Buffalo really adds to the interest. I definitely plan on going down to check out some games. |

Best advice an old man can offer:
Don’t scrimp on toilet paper. That’s an item you should certainly be willing to invest for quality, in the first place, and the price difference is “toss off” money, anyhow. |

Did I say win? I said it was a moronical decision. It was then, it is now. |

Your argument has absolutely no merit unless you assume, which obviously you do that the Bills win that game, else why would it matter one micron?
The decision was curious to be sure, And he displays a conservative thought process in his decision making by minimizing risk and taking few chances...I will give you that. Hopefully he learns from it, but I doubt it since it is a way of life for the vast majority of NFL coaches |

I must say, for all my ragging on Jack to improve his game outside of the Offensive side of the game and the criticism I have received from many on this Board, I am pleased that at least someone agrees with me...it is IN FACT an important part of leadership to play with passion on both ends of the ice...lead by example..
“Those things away from the puck are great things. That's what separates your leaders”. That from a Hall of Fame player and Head Coach in the big league...Phil Housley.
Eichel has amped his game up for the last 5 or so with very obvious improvement in his defensive play ... oh and his point production has taken off as well ... imagine that!
Now, since Phil is apparently reaching him...perhaps he could get all the Centers, starting with Jack to learn the art of Face-offs from one of the best in the game...ya, you know that guy on the Sabres. I think he still has open practice time after the team practice. Maybe by years end they could drive their win rate sans ROR up over a paltry 25% collectively.

Go back to drinking, please! Your posts were much better.
I kid, but I was sober for a month and loving it (hence very little HB posting) until X Mas at my Mom's... a week after learning she has pancreatic cancer and about 6 months to live (according to the oncologists).
And her birthday is December 25th. She's 81 and surprisingly taking it very well so far.
What a bummer. Pass the vodka. |

More will come from Jack in the years to come when they have better players and start winning, it's all an upward spiral or a downward one. It's hard to get on a guys case when clearly he has very little supporting staff and the season is yet another bust. People rave about Toews over his leadership qualities, but will he that same leader come next season when Chicago is back to being a bottom feeder? Is he going to be screaming his head off at guys to make plays when his team is stacked with guys like Cory Conacher, Brian Flynn, and Omark and Chicago is going for that #1 pick.

Tom, very sorry to hear this. Take some solace in the fact my Dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer as well and given 6 months ... he was much older at that point being 91at the time.
He passed in Feb at age 95...still sad but we were given a gift of additional time with him.
I pray the same for you Mom, that you are given more time.
You are in my prayers |

Yes, I think he will as I believe leadership doesn’t go away because the talent around you goes away.
It’s real, same with culture. Those that laugh at the concept apparently have never seen it. |

Wow, thanks for the prayers and for sharing about your Dad. I still tell my Mom she's going to live to 100 no matter what, but she was treating this as her "last" X Mas and birthday. I doubt that she will undergo treatment but we'll find out more this week about that. They said it has spread and chemo would only buy her a few more months. Stayin' hopeful. |
