I don't think Lehner is an NHL goalie. He just benefits from being huge and wearing huge equipment. That's why he's routinely exposed in 3 on 3 OT and shootouts.
However he's not the problem. Lowest scoring team in the league is the problem. Have to fix that first. - Buffalo--Sabres
C'mon, I mean I understand if you don't like him, but that's a bit much |
|

He covers a lot of net and has good positioning, but he can't move side to side quickly. He's lost once a rebound is kicked out or he goes against a player who can dangle the puck. He's a good backup, but will never take a team deep in the playoffs. We seriously need to consider Ullmark as the start next season and do some research on signing a quality backup, time to move on from Johnson as well. - sskkoo1
Yeah Ullmark will be here next year for sure and Ochocinco is a goner. |

This is not personal hatred. I could really give a (frank) about him and I don't explicitly blame him for loses. I just don't think he has the physical mechanics to be a good NHL goalie. I really think his size, the modern NHL game and modern equipment have gotten him where he is. 20 years ago he wouldn't have gotten out of the Swedish league. |

He has a .915 on this abysmal team. Sure he has his some bad moments, but to say he isn't NHL caliber is just wrong imo |

His performance is usually a result of the team in front of him. when the team opened up(barely) his numbers tank. Now that they've tightened up like last year, the numbers are back up. He's neither the problem nor the solution. |

Winnipeg and Edmonton was an absolute back and forth excellent game.
When are we going to play games like that? |

Man, these calls never seem to go our way, but it would be nice if these sports teams in our city showed some backbone and fought through it once in an while for a W. - sbroads24
Agreed. Sabres played really good though imo. They stayed on the attack. I don’t think it was conclusive that was a goal and to be so sure about it to stop the game wasn’t right. At that point there is no way they could call it anything but. |

This. Lehner is like when people custom make players in video games and set certain attributes very high and leave other critical ones at zero just to see what the outcome will be. |

My one "friend" on Facebook blames Lehner after every Sabres loss. Then wants to argue to no end about it. He's that guy that's totally dead wrong about something but thinks you're the idiot and that's it. Forget facts like being dead last in scoring. Definitely need a new goalie. I just can't. |

Lehner has made some absolutely incredible, highlight-breaking saves in his time here in Buffalo. Honestly, about 10 save of the year candidates.
But then, he enjoys getting the Ryan Miller shutout and lets in a lot of softies, has terrible rebound control and puck awareness. His positioning is great but he's slow. |

We'd have a losing record with Hasek in his prime. |

For those who keep saying ROR is so terrible because he's -18 or whatever. Karlsson is -19 and I'm pretty sure everyone would take him at pretty much any salary on this team.
Edit: OEL is -26. |

since you posted this when ror was a minus 2 tonight
our pp is pathetic
ror is a big part of it
our pp allows a high number of sh goals
ror is a part of it
but ror is a defensive specialist
yet when we have a lead late in the game and blow it, ror is on the ice
but ror doesn't have wingers
yet kane is putting up really good goal numbers and either okposo or pouliot is producing on that line
it's a cap era
I could find much better use for 7.5 mil, probably a second and a 3rd line center
if ror was putting 65 points a year, anchoring a top half pp unit, making his wingers better and showing all out hustle I would be absolutely fine with him
instead we have a 7.5 mil face off specialist
I promise you if we had oel or karlsson instead of ror on this roster, we would be a much better team |
