Our play in our own end has got to improve if we are going to be competitive. - powerhouse
I mean it is obvious the pens have called this season done. they can't turn this around anymore. as long as the stars plays like poop (letang, SID SID SID x10000000, Malkin and Murray x10000000000) we won't win a single game. this team is the worst it has ever at ANY stretch been since the year we drafted sid. |

Whenever I or my team was struggling it got better when we buckled down and began hitting and playing tenacious D. |

There is only 2 ppl on the team that hit. And one of those we just picked up..the other plays 6mins a game. |

This team has a multitude of problems. The roster has issues with the 3rd and 4th lines. The top players seem as if they have checked out mentally. The work ethic is lacking. I hope Rutherford does not make a knee jerk bad trade reaction. At best they turn it around, at worst write it off and reset for next season. |

4th line will be doing a lot of watching the rest of this game because they literally have zero value when we're trailing by 2.

That's all year. Trailing by 2. Maybe god forbid we should just throw Reaves up with sid. Christ that line can't be worse. A total and complete restructure of these lines should happen. If Sid can play with Cooke and make him look like an nhler then he can for Reaves too. Sid needs huge physical presence on his line. This is why kunitz was so important to the pens. |

Cooke when he was here was a leagues better than Reaves is now. Reaves is not good and is a big reason why our 4th line is unplayable. Saying he's not getting a proper shake because Sully won't give him shifts with Sid is dumb. That's like saying Glass should have gotten a look in the top 6.
Kunitz was great. Also key term there was was. He's not very good anymore. Our problem isn't that we lost Kunitz. It was right to let him walk. Our issue is that we didn't replenish LW depth. Hagelin's providing nothing and Kuhnhackl isn't an NHL player. |

This whole team has done a lot of watching. When was the last time this bunch out played a team in the first period? Will Sheary ever score again? Will Rust ever get another shot on goal? Will this D even get an assist? |

I didn't say anything about a proper shake. Lol..thats not at all the narrative I'm going for. I'm going for we have what we have and sid needs a physical presence on his line. We don't have much for that and like it or not...reaves hasn't been the worst player on this year's pens team by a long shot. Also I didn't suggest anything about that they should have kept kuni...tho I will say we should have now. The real issue is we didn't replace what he brought with anything useful. |

Alright I missunderstood, but I will say the worst player on the Pens has been a three way tie between Reaves, Kuhnhackl, and Rowney with Hagelin throwing his hat into the rink for consideration. |

I hope Mario is getting ready to cut Bettman another check. We're gonna need another high lottery pick this summer. |

Reaves has had way more impact than those others. Rust is invisible and sheary has been Mia for 55 of his last 65 games. Edit 54 of last 65 games. |

Sheary needs to stay on the third line...this is where he belongs and plays better with Shehan |

It might not be the worst thing to miss the playoffs and draft high. Rest up too. Fixing the roster in the off-season is much easier.
It's hard to imagine us doing damage in the playoffs. |

Its better for line construction for sure. Guentzel with Crosby. Kessel with Malkin. Sheary with Sheahan. Spread out the skill. |

Yes...this is very obvious from what I've seen this year. My god this team is unlucky. |

Sheary seems to like being the trigger man...kinda the go to offensive threat on the line. With sid he seems to defer constantly to sid..sid does the same so we end up seeing èff all happen when they play together. Maybe without conor sid can get back to beìng selfish and taking over games. |

If you put Reaves on a line with Sheahan and Simon I think that would be a pretty good 4th line. Like you say, you can't have a line with Reaves, Kuhnhackl and Rowney. They have no prayer of scoring a goal or having a positive impact. Honestly, if there's one thing that pisses me off is the our 4th line. It doesn't have to be so slow and ineffective. Bring up a kid or two and let's see what they can do. |

I've been saying that for quite awhile. Not sure many Pen fans ever admitted it out loud though. Won them some big games at key times. And you're probably not missing Hainsey either I bet. But I'm tickled we got him. |
