AA is good for 10-20 missed games a year. AA+Seabs package deal lol - EnzoD
Honestly if you can move Toews and eat 4-5 mil in a bad contract coming back you can move that contract by giving up an asset or two.
Hawks are going to rebuild quickly they must get cap space. |

I know Kane/Schmaltz connected for a PP goal, but that line was pretty underwhelming 5v5. 3rd line was the most dangerous for the Hawks right from the start and Kampf looked decent.
The younger D for the Hawks had a bit of a rough game and those no look passes were nasty. I don't care who is out there, those were some bang-bang passes perfectly executed.
Honestly, the Hawks were right in this game if they could bury a chance or two. They had looks and chances, but it was that one line for Vancouver that had the chemistry in overdrive. - breadbag
When? Where? Hawks put ZERO legit pressure on a bad Canucks team. Oh well, Hayden hit a post. Big deal. Otherwise, I didn't see ANY looks or ANY chances of significance from this sleep walking team. |

For all the cool aid drinkers earlier in the season who kept saying let’s wait to see were this team is after xmas, do we now wait and see where they are at the trade deadline?
This team is going no where and fast, awful hockey to watch.
At this point where do you even start to change this team. - Blackhawks4life

As if they were so awesome in ANY zone!! This team looked like a joke tonight. An absolute fraud. Play like this tomorrow and it's 8-0. |

Honestly, If the Hawks were stupid enough to put Toews on the block, I would think they would have almost 30 teams all drooling over themselves. The Captain needs a fire lit under his arse.

It's hard enough to watch this group, so rehashing their play seems like a waste of time. |

Darth did that look any better from your vantage point?
That was ugly fam.
There are serious problems with this team and if this keeps up, I think you may see Hawks management change their mind about waiting until the Summer to make a big deal.
I didn't like the lines from the start, I hated the effort all night and I know you all didn't enjoy the outcome.
See you tomorrow with a quick gameday preview. |

I know they've struggled, but I can't believe how poor they played in front of Forsberg. It's one of the worst defensive games I've seen this team play all year |

... drooling over a 50 point player making 10 .5 million a year? Remove his salary and he's still a nice player, but he's paid like a superstar and produces like a role player. |

Q needs to sit the whole team down and force them to watch the Vegas golden knights play. pace, passion, tenacity, puck movement, and throwing pucks and bodies at the net all game. Vegas comes back to beat LA in OT...what a story! |

Lol, pass the kool aid bro. Toews is on pace for under 50 points, is slow, soft on the puck, and has seemingly lost his puck control ability. The only thing GMs would be drooling over are the potential prospects and picks Stan would have to include in the trade. |

Toews has never been a huge point producer, yet he still got 10.5. There's a reason there used to be an argument for him being one of the best players in the league. He just needs to find his form. And at least for his 10.5 million, he's already delivered 3 cups. Just be glad he's not one of these growing list of players getting over 9 or 10 million plus and have not delivered a thing. |

... "now" is not the time to compete...Bankees, Stros, Tribe are in their window. They close, we step in.
I think Hawks are now watching windows open wide for many other teams and even if they improve a bit they are still not even close to being in league with teams like TB or Nash, among others. Sell now, try to rebuild quick...may take a few years, but if they hit on some players they could be back soon. It beats watching this laboring descent into the abyss. |

Toews DID NOT deliver those Cups....a great team did. He was PART of the machine. Four stud lines (at least in 2010 and 2013), great tending (in 2013, 2015), and a top 4 D without peer (in all years). Toews never should have gotten 10.5....never. Because it meant he had to pick up for lost talent due to his bloated salary. He can't make up for that lost production and the Hawks are unable to provide capable roleplayers around him because he makes so damn much money against the Cap. |

Kind of pointless to put pucks on net from the permiter when you have zero net front presence.
Kane needs a finsher on his line. Schmaltz needs a finisher on his line too. The Hawks went and got Toews his 2 way winger and got rid of their best shooter. Saad has been far below what was expected.
Hawks lack guys in the top 6 who can score. Kane is really the only dynamic player who can score multiple ways. Debrincat looks like a nice complimentary scorer but he’s undersized. He isn’t going to hold pucks and score goals on his own. The NHL is about winning 1 on1. Hawks don’t have enough forwards that can win those battles night in and night out. The ones that can win them can’t do anything with the puck once they get it.
The Hawks really have yet to replace Hossa and Sharps 60g a year. They currently have 3 established Top 6 forwards. Two of which are really under performing. That’s a recipe for mediocre.

Oh that was the 2010, 13 and 15 Chicago Toewses?? Hockey is a team sport and his cap hit forced this team to part with talented players. His production, shift to shift impact, and overall game are unacceptable and it's not really even close. He just so happened to play with the best 200ft winger of the 21st Century and as soon as Hossa declined, Toews went to crap. |

Oh, I forgot, they lost so nothing they did was right and they should have lost 10 - 0 because everything was awful.
I'm not saying it was a great game, but the Hawks had powerplays and some chances but they bobbled it or missed. Not a pretty game, but they could have been in this one until the backbreaker 4-1 goal.
The biggest disappointment for me in that game was line 2. Aside from some pressure on the PP they did nothing. Kane/Schmaltz amounted to zero shots at 5v5 and with zero scoring chances. I didn't mind how the bottom 6 played.
Forsberg wasn't bad, but he still doesn't look comfortable in the net in terms of his positioning and holing his crease.
Toews has been dragged through the mud but I will say the last two games he earned it or is playing with something wrong. There was something lacking in his mobility against NJ and tonight IMO. |
