Why bring back rass he sucked thats why he wasn't resigned if the hawks do trade Hartman, which i agree with justin need controllable assets, only for a 3rd line center and yes bring back wiggles 1 or 2 years no more than a million per year. |

I don't know.... Stan isn't a fan of bringing back ex-Hawks. - Justin Lowe
I'm intrigued by the Debrincat-Kampf-Vinny line. lots of speed, but two small wingers so Kampf will have to be ready and willing to battle along the wall and in front of the net. Hartman doesn't seem to be playing with a lot of confidence and he has regressed a bit as far as taking bad offensive zone penalties more often than last season. Only good thing about a down year for Hartman is that he will have to settle for a very team-friendly RFA contract. Schmaltz is on pace for 52 points (if he played a full 82 game season), and you've got to think if he comes close to 50 points this year and next, he will get at least what Panik is making as an RFA. What will Rutta command this summer after his solid introduction to the NHL? |

You want to trade Bouma and Wingels, the only two guys who bring it every night? I don't know what quality of prospects or picks you're going to get at the TDL for a couple of grinders. Not sure if either of those guys are over 30, but I think that their effort should be rewarded with another season here showing the kids how to work. - Dieselhead
I agree, it would be a good idea to retain Bouma and Wingels for another year. Their work ethic and toughness are good for the team -- both for the youngsters and ironically for the veteran core as well.
My gut is that the future 4th line is still at least another year away. Something like either Dauphin or Johnson centering Highmore and Hayden (with 40 of course getting starting time already with 17 and 57).
Even if we let Bouma and Wingels go, we would need to pick up similar players via free agency or trade. Because they're affordable and have been part of the most consistent line all season, I'd rather keep Bouma and Wingels around for another year. You know what you're going to get from them. Let their prospect replacements over marinate in Rockford. |

Don’t expect we will get the full story on Crawford. Hell, Q’s comment about the Zapruder film was “President has an upper body injury, day-to-day” |

Are the WJC games streaming online anywhere?? Some of the best hockey to watch, IMO. Great speed, skill, pace, and passion in this tournament every year. Would love to stream the games at work |

Guess they are making Hartman, Panik, Sharp, and Hino battle in practice for 2 spots |

Altybarmakyan’ playing on Russia's top line and is dangerous every time he's on the ice. Guy is fast and tenacious on the puck. Easy to see why the Hawks drafted him. |

I think that sucks. Sharp will get the benefit of the doubt, because of his long relationship with coach Q .... Panik had success last year, so he will get a shot to regain that success and that will probably leave Hinostroza on the outside looking in.
Vinnie has at least stablized the third center slot .... not spectacular but certainly not hurt them at all. Even though he plays center, would be better suited to use his speed on the wing. You think Q would ever think of playing guys at their position of strength or is that asking too much and is too logical |

I like having Sharp in the lineup to give Kampf a veteran to play alongside in his NHL debut.
We'll see how the final lineup shakes out but I agree with another poster that the wing rotation for the 1st and 3rd lines consists of Sharp, Hinostroza, Hartman, and Panik. |

interesting to see the hierarchy for 3rd line LW:
- Sharp
- DeBrincat
- Hino
Not sure where Hartman and Panik fit in there - or maybe they are higher priority RWs when playing with Hino and he goes to the LW for that reason. |

@MarkLazerus
Q said Panik could be a "game-to-game" decision. Still trying to light a fire under him. "There’s some guys up front [for whom] the production’s been down. He’s definitely one of them."
@MarkLazerus
On scratching Hinostroza, Q said he wanted to get Kampf in at center, and hoped Sharp and DeBrincat could rekindle their earlier chemistry. |

Quite a bit of recent notable UBIs besides Crawford:
Scheifele WPG (out 6-8 weeks)
Murray PIT
Kreider NYR
Vegas also atop the Western Conference; 2nd in points in the entire NHL. |
