Botterill won't " walk the walk" and " talk the talk " like Murray did, Botterill isn't under a microscope to turn this team around ASAP. He's making his mark on this team his way and won't rush any players no matter what and that includes another year of putting the team together that he wants, that includes ticket sales also.
Murray got himself fired by his mishandling of the roster and his lack of knowledge as to how to build the team. Botterill is not being " watched " by Pegula, him and Housley will work together building this team. - SABRES 89
Makes sense
That’s why I warned ppl Guhle might not be here this year
And why I’m saying Mittelstadt MIGHT not be here next year
Kid looks pretty darn good so far though
So that’s good news at least,
even if we have to wait an extra year |

And for as much as the Sabres are still struggling this year...
I would think that the Rochester success is buying Botts points with Pegula
And earning trust when it comes to building the entire organization |

Sure he looks good, he's playing against kids right now. If they feel he's ready he will get a look but I wouldn't count on it 100% he's gonna be here for sure. This is not the time to rush anything else and Botterill know's it, he's very calm. |

When’s the next one?
Is it the year after next? 19-20?
Or is it 20-21? |

Botterill has got power, more then Murray did. Botterill comes from a winning organization and Pegula hold the Pens organization in high regard so he's trusts Botterill. |

Yeah, I agree
I get why ppl are so excited about the kid
But that doesn’t mean that BOTTS thinks he’s ready
Maybe he does, maybe he doesn’t
I’m just not gonna make assumptions |

Good points, I still think he's eichel like. Hopefully he gets a few games here and plays for rochester in the playoffs.
He's also 19 already. 20 in november.
How far behind hirsher and nolan is he?

That makes sense too
I would like to see guys like Bailey & Baptiste & Smith get some quality ice time up here this season though
We don’t have room for those guys + Rodrigues & Fasching
And Mittelstadt & Nylander
And then Asplund, Pu, Olofsson, Davidsson, etc coming right behind them
We need to decide who to keep,
and who to trade |

Fasching is useless IMO and he can go, I like EROD but something is going on with Bailey, he looks lost when he comes to the big club. |

I don’t think Botts evaluates him compared to them though
From what he’s said,
he will bring guys up when they are ready
And not before
Guentzel was a guy he referenced in that regard |

He is also a kid. Not like he's 25. He's playing against his piers.
Especially canada, they are pretty stacked full of drafted and soon to be highly drafted picks.
I trust jbotts.
What else does mitts have to do to convince people? He was the best player on either team by far. Maybe tkachuk 2nd. |

I don’t watch all the games super close,
bc I’m working during a lot of them
But Bailey had 2 goals this year when on RORs wing
Then got moved to the 4th line & got squat
Seems like he’s a guy who needs to play with good players to produce
Let’s see him back here for a good 15-20 games playing in the top6, or at least with some talent on the 3rd line (E Rod & Pommer?)
Stop jerking the guy around the lineup |

NHL is a totally different game, you know that, kid needs to gain a few pounds also. Changes are coming. |

He's getting moved around due to some players in limbo, things should work out soon.
For the record, Kane wants to stay but know's it's a business. |

He doesn’t have to convince “people”
He’s gotta convince Botts & Housley
He can’t do that until training camp next year
Lots of guys look good in these tourneys every year & go back to their Juniors team or ncaa or ahl or Europe
What Mitts is doing in Minny is good,
not extraordinary like Eichel was
His training camp will determine where he plays next year
Not this tourney |

Well I’m on record as wanting to sign him
Longer it takes, the more I think he will get moved though
This trade deadline & offseason should be pretty interesting for us
It’ll likely give a better idea as to what Botts thinks is the right way to build this team |

I agree, but I rarely get hyped for young talent
He looks for real. He has passed every test so far. No reason to think he's not going to continue to excell.
Here is my non hype list
Silent sam
Nylander
Bailey
Fashing
Babtiste
Casey nelson
I agree with homie and you. A splash is needed for sure, but not if it hurts his development.
Ulmark should be here next year. Can't see him being happy about another year in the ahl. Especially if they win in the playoffs
