I was just looking at the schedules coming up & how we had tie breakers against a lot of our competition
I was saying that a team will likely get in at 9-7, maybe 8-8
That SD game hurt
U all know my feelings on Tyrod, but even I said it was stupid to start Peterman
Maybe we lose that game anyways,
but it was still a dumb move
But yeah...
let’s just win today & see what happens
9-7 is MONUMENTALLY SUCCESSFUL in my opinion for this season
I had them at 5 wins
And even if they go 8-8,
with how brutal the offense (esp passing) has been at times this year...
that’s pretty damn good
Think about this defense once we have an offense that can consistently score & drive the ball down field at least
Playing with the lead makes a huge difference
And if we can add another couple good players with our draft picks...
we could have a top10 or better defense,
and stay near the top with takeaways
Headed in the right direction for sure
Just need to find that franchise QB - jdfitz77
Whoa there, slow down.
As the clown stated earlier, forget the Charges game as the bigger issues were not beating the Jets and Cindy, and I’ll add 1 of the 2 Pats games.
As far as our D goes, if Kyle Williams retires that line will need to be rebuilt as well, in addition to another LB...those 3 games in the middle of the season where they couldn’t stop an ant running through the middle was a harbinger if things to come.
Yes, they made strides this year to be sure, but they have a lot of work ahead of them. |

I think the sabres have put enough of a "lead" in the bottom pick to actually try to win for a bit
Tennyson= tank
Griffen=tank
Nolan=tank
Belevue = tank
Antipin = tank and develop
Gorges = original tanker
Moulson and his 0 points in 14 games = tank
Wilson= tank
Convinalo= tank
Chad johnson = tank
Lehner = playing better, but tanky too
The more I watch the juniors the more you could see why jbotts would want a high pick
You have to imagine tpegs is on board too
Especially with silent sam and nylander not looking like core guys
Love the blogs, just an opinion. - Boss34
Sam is so much better... nylander sucks in the ahl... at least Sam had two decent years in the nhl... I just think Sam is a bad fit for this system...probably best to move him.
Nylander gets one more year in Rochester before we give up on him..he seriously has to start racking points up though. And I just don’t see it, hell he only has one goal in the junior tournament. |

I know and what i meant was those aren't random bounces that are 50/50. Eichel's not a good penalty shot/shootout guy and despite popular belief kane's not a sniper. - Sabresfan-365
Who has ever said Kane was a sniper? He's like Vanek and Andreychuk, scores 95% of his goals inside of 10', or like 2' in Andreychuk's case. |

He's absolutely a sniper imo.
Half his shootout goals are bar-down half slap snipes without even pulling a move |

Saw Andre.. at the Bolts game down here last week. Never was impressed with him either, but he put the biscket in the basket to be sure.
I continue not to be impressed with him. |

i don't think they went into this season with the intention of losing and i don't think that because of their poor start through 25-30 games they're in stealth-tank mode...
i could be wrong, but that's the way i see it - Michael Pachla
I don't think they really care where they end up this year. They'd love to do well, and I'm sure a top 5 pick wouldn't ruin their day either. They both pretty much said as much in the summer/beginning of the season. |

He could be, but he was known for scoring from 5' out.

To me the difference between their styles is that Vanek shoots for an open corner, and Kane tries to fire through the goalie |

Risto, Reinhart, Nylander maybe - Stripes77
That could work for a building team.
I forgot about nylander.
On the bills front:
If the Bills could do what they did with the secondary: next year with the d line.
Tre day

Poyer
Gaines
This is really impressive

You youngin's only remember the fancy poop. Most of the time he just stood in front of the net and banged home rebounds. |

Comparing silent sam and nylander is saying bad and worse.
Sam's 5 goals at 22 years old in the nhl
Alex's 1 goal at 19 playing with 17-19 year olds
Maybe nylander is having a problem adjusting to the systems too?

And everyone anointed him the next great sniper/power forward. I know no one on here likes this argument, but name one sniper in this league who doesn't have at least 1 hat trick.
Evander Kane.
I'm not saying he isn't good, but he will regress, especially without Eichel (I know they haven't played together lately, but look at kanes goals since then)
Buyer beware. Some GM is gonna get a hard-nosed 50 point guy, which is fine, but he's gonna get hurt, and he's gonna disappear for stretches - jcragcrumple
Are we forgetting about last year and 28 goals almost exclusively without Jack? Most on the 3rd line. |

Draft a QB have him develop for a year
A veteran QB of Bradford, Keenum, or Alex Smith would be good short term
Cousins is going to want a long term deal and he is not worth the money he is going to get IMO.
Trade Tyrod to Denver at the draft for pick (hoping for a 3rd would probably get a 4th)
I like Tyrod but if Dennison is still here Tyrod is not a good fit for his system - Stripes77
I could be down with all that
Makes sense
I’d be ok signing Cousins long term and drafting a QB like Falk in the 2nd if he falls
And I actually think Keenum can be the long term answer
He’s been very impressive this season
Small sample size,
but I think he’s the real deal |

Don't let the dome fool you. Even in LA he was (frank)ing awful last year.
Sure, it's possible he's the next Drew Brees, but I don't know if I'd bet a huge contract on that. |

Yeah, and he got his usual 50ish points and was hurt for some of the time. I'm just saying, this season has the makings of an aberration |
