With 19 and 20 getting off the schnide last night (a game I admittedly didn't see) lets see if they can heat up and get a streak going.
The Fox has left the yard thank god...I honestly suspect Pace will hire HO HUM Dennis Allen from New Orleans. Bears request interview with Carolina DC Wilks. Josh McDaniel will likely end up in New York, but given the need to get a "QB Guru" he'd be a top choice, but the Giants job is a better job than Chicago and Billichik is pimping for him pretty hard. Though I wont lose sleep either, the Billichik coaching tree has not yielding impressive results when they leave the hooded emperor.
My favorites if Jim Harbaugh is not a candidate (which I don't think he is) are Pat Shurmur and David Shaw. What Shurmur did in Minnesota with a third string QB was amazing. He actually has shown the ability to groom QBs to play good football and while his time in Cleveland was not great, I don't think Vince Lombardi could have won in that cesspool of idiocy. - kwolf68
He's definitely a guy I'd like to see them target. For better or worse I'm hoping Pace gets to hire his own guy without interference from Phillips and McCaskey.
I hope McDaniel ends up in NY and not Chicago. I know some guys do better on their second gig (Bellichik, Carroll) and if that's the direction they go I'd rather see Shurmur than McDaniel. Mitch is still unmolded Clay and I'd like to see what Shurmur could do with him.

No, he was just mocking me yesterday and today.
If we do, it will be because a player or coach is so frustrated they speak without thinking and the writer hearing it isn't afraid of losing access. |

Schurmer was head coach at Cleveland a few years ago where he won 10 games over 2 years.
He may be one of those guys that's better at being a coordinator than a head coach. |

Not just "Q". I thought he was really strong last night. Really pushed the puck up ice. Nice outing. - hawk35
Oesterle is pushing the offense in multiple ways (rushing the puck, quick passes, short passes, jumping into the rush and being aggressive at the blueline)... he's doing it better than any other Hawks D right now.
Now, does that come with defensive downfalls? Sure does. However, the Hawks need a player (or more players) like this to attack in waves and drive offence; the problem right now though is skill, confidence and/or "want" with the rest of the Hawks defenders (other than Murphy, who's been stepping up a lot). |

How might that affect the way Forsling and or Ruuta play whenever they return to lineup. Wonder if we might see Kempny do like Osterle. Franson could sit for better skating Ruuta, Forsling whom Q could use on one of the pp units. With improvement lately on pp schematic both those guys have good shot to unload
Knott (#49) impressed me vs Wolves. Watch his development maybe more so next year. Strong along boards seems to be strong guy. Skates well for big guy. Luis looks like a player with know how and ability. But so short. Gus is good but has issues with physical game and is in numbers game in Chicago. Osterle is ahead of him. Ruuta and Forsling too. |

Cleveland is a pure chess pool, owned by a crooked rober baron so I’ll give him a pass on that gig, which was actually yoemans work all things considered.

Here are a couple of questions for the panel:
First what trades need to be made to get the hawks into a playoff team and contend beyond the first round so who the. Hawks trade to get what?
Second
If the hawks do not make the playoffs what trades need to be made to turn the hawks around and become a contender again.
This my opinion if the hawks want to trade seabrook retain 2 million per year would be easier to move instead of adding draft pick or prospect, remember hawks still would gain 4.8 million in cap space if this would happens. So thoughts are welcome.

Pace has requested permission to interview Shurmur. So I think he and the Eagles QB coach are two of the top candidates for the Bears. I doubt the Carolina DC is going to get it as I think the Bears want to go with an offensive guy to mold Mitch. This of course assumes no "surprise" coach is out there such as the Sanford coach or Harbaugh. |

, Seabrooke for Lucic who is 5 years younger and would fill a big void up front. Heard also that Bowman asked for A D man back in addition . We'll see. |

What? Are you saying Bowman offered Seabrook to the Oilers for Lucic + a D? Is this true? |

In Edmonton hockeybuzz someone said their defense is ok with injured players return. Additionally while Klefborn has not been as good as expected, Nurse has stepped up. Imho they need back up goaltender. What ails their offense - beside that the defense drags down the offense. RNH name in play in rumorsville. I don't think they want Seabrook even if we pay part of the bill
That contract would stretch beyond this season. Is Chicago paying some salary each season. What about Seabrook veto rights in his contract? |

Seabrook can block trades...but the thinking is he'd waive to goto Western Canada, but who knows. |

How about Tom Wilson? The Hawks need a big mean winger or 2that go to the net! Too many Tinsey flys and right now, Ryan Hartman isn't a pimple on Andrew Shaw's behind. This may just be the year we don't make the play offs, but what do we have on the come? More smurfs or soft Euro players, that what Bowman seems to target in his drafts! As far as Seabrooke, I don't buy the age bullpoop, Chris Chelios at 32 years old still had 10 good seasons to go, Chelios was a work out machine, Brent Seabrooke , and I know for a fact , doesn't have the words, work out, training, Health Club or anything to do with the type of training Chelios did.
There are a number of you guys also on this sight that have avenues into the inner workings of this team, so check your sources and hear it for yourselves! Brent Seabrooke is lazy, Right off the ice and right home on the couch! If he was smart , he would team up with Chris and train hard, Not in his DNA, probably a part of Q's country club regime.
So the next question is , Do you trust Bowman to make any more big trades regarding a guy like Seabrooke? And as far as the coach, I like Q, but if these guys get him fired the guy I'd like to see come in would be either Mike Keenan or Darryl Sutter. See how they like playing for those 2, I guarantee you, Keenan or Sutter would re shape some of the roster and some of Bowmans Ballerina smurfs would be gone.
Rocky ! I don't think has his hands on it like his dad did, say what you want about his dad, but he would have been in Bowmans ear big time after seeing some of this crap this season, Bill would be the guy to tell some of those guys, " you don't want to play for Joel, see how you like playing for Mike Keenan or Sutter!
And I don't think McDonough has enough knowledge as far as a GM or coach change goes. I think it very possibly could be , this is it for this year. |

Lucid is 3 years younger than Seabrook. Don’t think I would do that deal, Lucic could look worse in the future than Seabrook. |

Lucic can't skate much faster than Seabrook. Might as well put Seabs on the top line with Tazer and Saader so we can break the $20M mark. - Dieselhead[/quote
I agree with your point, but I was looking at it by the age difference, anything that Lucic can contribute would be a plus, plus I think they would be out of that contract by the time he is 34-35years old, I don’t think anything like this is going to happen anyway it was just throwing crap against the wall to see what sticks, I am sure they have some ideas in mind and are working on stuff, this hierarchy will not settle for not making the playoffs with this core.I bet they’re going to look at teams that are absolutely tanking and selling to try to get some complementary pieces. I am with others that Montreal trade with Danault Is going to bite Bowman in the ass big time! |

FFS, Keenan's game was dump and chase with a bunch of slugs. I was amazed at how often they retreived the puck dumping it when he was coach, but that was a whole different team. The team as it is now might not be Q's kind of team, but it sure as hell isn't Keenans. Darryl is more adaptable than either Q or Keenan, but he prefers a bigger team too. Keenan has proven time and again that he is a 2 year act with a 5 year contract. |

Fakes news. Jokiharju is another euro-smurf drafted by Stan that will just add to his long list of failures.
Seriously though, I think Jokiharju could turn out to be a top 4 d-man (eventually). I wouldn't be surprised to see the Hawks sign him to a contract at the end of this season. |
