....Meantime the Bears have fired Fox - yet Ryan Pace who assembled that dumpster fire of a roster remains. You know the guy that thought giving Mike Glennon 18m was a good idea and that's just for starters.....

I think it would be hilarious if the Bears cut Glennon, Fox gets hired to coach the Browns, he picks up Glennon, and Cleveland goes on to win the Super Bowl next season. Pace would be sitting here picking his nose. Unless they start winning, Pace won't be here long.

Draft Site's current 2018 mock draft to see who possible top 5 picks may be.

Brady Tkachuk is supposedly better than Matthew so he may be an instant contributor to whichever team drafts him if his older brother is any indication.

The only issue with this idea is that it relies on Stan to make a good draft pick, which he cannot. It would be a waste of assets across the board.

Stan would draft Calen Addison, no doubt about it.

I’d like to see Stan draft Eggenberger...now that’s a handle!

Hmmmm, in the last 3 years Pace has assembled some very talented players. The predictable offense was brutal. Sure Pace made a mistake with Glennon but it was a 1 year mistake not a 3 year mistake. Didn't trade up in his first draft, settled for a player, and now the past 2 years has been aggressive in getting his guy. I don't know if Mitch is going to be a franchise QB, but he hasn't showed me anything that says he won't be.

If, and I'm really hoping if they get a coach who really understands offense and football is an aggressive sport on both sides of the ball, I really like their chances going forward.

Thanks as always for your detailed insight. We'll see how any of these and other prospects pan out.

Fortin is a prospect who will either take another year or two to earn a call up or fizzle out after strong showings in camps that may turn out to be flashes in the pan. Others may advance ahead of him on the pecking order.

Hawks are high on Kero, Highmore, Dauphin and of course Kampf so they should have cups of coffee within the next calendar year or early 2019. Johnson is making a name for himself, and hopefully so will guys like Fortin, Knott, T. Sikura, and Louis.

As for Louis, I can't see the Hawks having both him and Hinostroza: pint-sized speedsters who seem to have similar skill sets. Prospects need to differentiate themselves or else they start getting redundant and not stand out (i.e. become expendable as trade chips).

- AEL_Fox

I had the same thought about the future role of Luis and Hinostroza and mentioned this in a blog a while ago. The situation will play itself out due to a number of variables, chief which is other incoming players vs outgoing players.

Either of them could turn up by the end of next season, or at the 2019 trade deadline.

Luis is likely to develop all or better part in two AHL seasons. The recent disclosure that he is now working at puck turnover by striping the puck when the opponent heads up ice.....this is a positive development....It is as a checker, not in physical scrum where he is more to try this tactic. Luis will have to put the idea he can be solid in someone's mind. First of all that he will backcheck.

I need to see him succeed with defensive effort while creating or scoring at the NHL level. He will always be the underdog to make it. On the other hand, Hinostroza has the blend of speed and skill plus can adequately play center. For now I see Hinostroza the more valuable.

Another player who is in the same situation as Louis - the prove it idea - is Iocopelli with his big shot and ? whatever else he will need to become.

I agree with your read on the defensemen. Could be a lot of talented dmen most which fit as 3rd pair offensive/ceiling. Krys needs to develop but he may never be strong defensively. Trying to remember who is Johnson...will look him up.

High five if you know what team drafted the funny sounding Wacey Rabbit a number of years ago. He played AHL a few years & was in low minors maybe not even ECHL. Some city in Florida. The announcer could really have fun with that name.

This board see's more action in the dead of August than what we are seeing recently...

That's because in the dead of August there was optimism, but by October reality kicked in.

Max Pacioritty could be a possible trade target for Bowman

He needs new scenery- he can score and Habs need to move him

Not sure Hawks have the assets but his Cap hit is doable and he checks a lot of boxes when Anisimov comes back

He has 1 goal in 23 games- Habs have no plan

Traded Webber for Subban
Traded Sergachev for Drouin - 5 Goals in 35 games -14

Signed Price for 20 years and 200 Million

Maybe Hawks - pick him up cheap

Bergevin is gone April 20th

There is a commonality both Anisimov and Paciorety share:
They both are out injured often. If Bergevin is worried about his job and their on ice performance, then he needs NHL players in exchange for Paciorety and maybe Galyenchuk too.

Fox not on the run; he collects his big paycheck still for One year. Meanwhile, the face of Pace....The Pace the Bears will operate from....draft well.

Still would love to go to Montreal some future vacation. Habs still sell out? They know their hockey up there. Perhaps they aren't talking much, just swearing. Lots of pressure in Montreal. The tradition. The Cups. That was then, this is now. They are truly now "the Habs Not."

A CENTER. For what it would cost to get Patch we could get a LEGIT top 9 center plus a pick or prospect or a top 4 D if that's your fancy. Hawks have wingers, they need help at center.
