Isles just cannot clear the crease. Getting completely outworked down low.

I don't blame Doug. If I was him I'd be wondering why the team even got on the plane out there.

The mere fact that Hickey and Mayfield are playing significant minutes on the PK tells you everything you need to know about the state of the Isles' defensive corps.

Garth needs to make a New Year's resolution to upgrade the D. Otherwise, this season is going to end unhappily.

another year of so called progress in the books. this team has no legitimate chance to compete for the cup as they stand. will snow make a move or will the rebuild go on?

The team is competitive so the term rebuild is gone. I do agree with the first assessment. Yes, goaltending needs to be better, but for heaven's sake Pulock, Mayfield and Hickey flat out suck.

Earth to Snow, Earth to Snow, you need to fortify the d corps on this team ASAP or the POs are going to slip away!

"They played a great game they just didn't win." "Hot goalie." "If we can play like that every night we're going to be just fine."

With all of this said this team will most likely miss the playoffs again.

This team has more issues than just the dmen. The forwards are not buying into playing defense and too many forwards like Nelson who bring nothing to the game when not scoring. Garth has to do something and cannot wait like he usually does. JT also has to be a real captain and set the tone.

Yes hate to say it but they look like the same old bubble team.

Broken down fragile d men and tired out lower line forwards who can't sustain any streak.

They'll make the playoffs despite these flaws. But Snow really needs to address the 3rd line. The top 2 lines can only do so much.

JT has done everything and anything that could be expected of him. He's not that type of captain which is fine by me. This team crapping the bed has nothing to do with JT not taking control of the room. This to me is looking more and more like a coaching problem. Whether it's a crap system or the players tuned out Weight I'm not sure but it's definitely one or the other.

I wonder who are captain will be next season? This guy isn't signing up for another eight years of this (frank)ing torture
If he does he's not too bright.

I'll agree JT has done everything offensively, but I still wish he were more vocal. I know that is not happening though. It's pretty bad if the team tuned out Doug already. The biggest issue is Garth and Belmont will not fix it. I doubt the Isles will try another coaching change so it's on Garth to make moves unless L&M are ready to get rid of Garth? I know that is not happening.

It's only 39 games into the season. The team would not tune Doug out at this point.

Yeah Snow isn't firing Weight (not do I think he should) look how long it took to fire crapuano. It's still early there's time for him to right the ship but with that said the same problems persists. There doesn't seem to be any defensive structure whatsoever. Either there isn't any or the team isn't listening. Yeah we have had some key injuries of course but this problem existed before dehaan or Boychuck were injured. Weight has to change something up at this point. This team will go into it's usual chasing it's own tail mode shortly. It never ceases to amaze me how this team is still at this at best mediocre level for so many years

Have to think they have not tuned him out already. I think it's more of a lack of system than anything. Cannot put everything on de Haan and Boychuk being out as the defense play was bad before.

Usually it takes 60-80 games for dmen to get acquainted with a new system especially with the inexperience of Pelech, Pulock, Mayfield and in this case now Aho. This happens league-wide when new systems are implemented. If they can stay in a playoff spot or only 2-3 points out by game 60, they'll be in good shape.
Would love for the 3rd line to be addressed though. Nelson is a POS.
