Kane may be the biggest rental, but his price goes down with Pacioretty and Hoffman being available. Those are better players under contract, more valuable to basically any team

Yeah, "in the office" away from everyone else. He was in the coach's office, yet the coach was out in the locker room amidst his team. Same with Terry and other front office/medical/training staff. Terry was standing with the team internist.
