Hall and eberle were getting traded at some point. Not sure how people expected PC to raise the salary cap to be able to keep them all given McDavid was going to cash in and what L.D. ended up getting.
His return for said deals is however questionable, but if he replaces those contracts with the same dollar value coming back, are they not still in the same boat salary cap wise?

Main problem is that the expectations with the team were far too high this season after overachieving last year. Now all those on the interwebs who want nothing but instant gratification, think that firing the GM and entire coaching staff is somehow the answer.

I remember coming across info a while ago that you can have up to 3 people per organization have the ability to sign off on trades.

With the Avs it was Sakic, Roy and josh kroenke (not sure who has it now without Roy...McFarland probably now) One of the 3 have to approve deals with league office before its official. Who knows who those guys could be in Ott, maybe its just Eugene and wont even give the GM that power
