It makes total sense for them to bring up Goulbourne now. First, what do they have to lose, and second, his physical presence might provide a spark (as others have suggested). Will he stay up long? Nope. 2-3 games, max.
But this makes sense for another reason. Goulbourne will be 25 soon (drafted in 2013) and he has been very slow to develop (understatement). He is in the last year of his ELC, and frankly, I think the front office knows it has enough talent in the pipe that it needs to make better decisions going forward about who to retain and who to jettison after three pro years. If he really shows something, he might get to stick around, but if he doesn't, it will be easier to offer him the AHL only contract he deserves.
As for Sanheim, IF they are going to keep him in the NHL, they need to play him, and to play him, they need to sit someone. The best solution:
Provorov-Hagg
MacDonald-Sanheim
Gostibehere-Manning/Gudas
You spent a year + in the AHL teaching Hagg to be a good stay at home / two-way defender. Stop undoing it.
You spent a year building good habits and teaching Sanheim to be a good Power Play QB. Stop undoing it.
You spent a year getting Provorov to be a good offensively minded two-way defender. Stop undoing it. |

does saint ronnie have the bolos to actually make a trade that would help the nhl club - rinaldo
If they take Weal for him I'd do it. I wouldn't offer a whole lot more. |

I'm a partial season ticket holder and I have tickets for tonight's game. Is it possible that I could just get another game? I really don't feel like trekking 45 minutes in the snow for this game. - KGBflyers10

he looked good in 15-16 and hasn't done much since. maybe a change of scenery does the kid good. gotta think Arizona is just not a good situation for anyone right now |

I certainly wouldn't mind giving him a shot. I just wouldn't give up a ton for him given his struggles.
If Hextall is considering making some big moves this off-season this wouldn't be a bad preemptive move to get a jump start on adding a capable skater. |

What's their record again after the 10 game winning streak last year through now?
It's laughably bad and quite amazing that only the PP coach got axed through this span. |

well its about 2 scenarios for Arizona imo.
1. They would take back picks and or prospects. In this scenario does a 3rd and mid level prospect work? IDK. Flyers have picks and prospects out the wazoo so maybe you overpay a little, if ronald thinks he is a guy worth overpaying for.
2. If they want current nhl players then it gets tricky. Flyers dont have much to offer in this area imo. Weal and a mid round pick? I don't think that gets it done.
Just think flyers have the prospects and picks to offer if arizona goes that route.
maybe you expand the deal to get them to take lehtera? |
